Komari just looks adorable…
When I heard a bit more of her voice, she sounded very familiar to Yayoi Takatsuki from The Idolmaster. Aside from that, her personality also reminds me of Fuuko, but not nearly as childish. She is just a very cheerful girl that brings happiness to the group despite being unskilled, loves eating sweets and clumsy. This shows when she manages to get stuck in her secret spot with Riki having to save her. One of the amusing things seen is obviously the animal print underwear. It comes at no surprise given her personality.
On the other front, I find Rin’s shyness a bit surprising. She has a very aggressive temper when she deals with the boys. However, the opposite happens when she is around strangers since she becomes timid. It’s so bad that she even skips out her cleaning duties to play with kittens. While it’s entertaining to see her shrink up into a ball, I would like to see her getting over it. From what I saw with Rin fixing Komari’s skirt, perhaps this is the first step of shredding that image. Still, more work needs to get done before Rin can get over it completely.
Compared to the first episode, the second was definitely an improvement in the comedy department. It’s funny to see Misato trying to use a bar of soap against Kengo. It’s just plain silly. Also, he procures puppets that look almost like Bert and Ernie while cleaning a storage house (I suppose they need to appear as a cameo after Romney decided to cut PBS’s funding). Aside from that, the mysterious notes that are tied to the cat’s tail kind of intrigued me. Maybe it’s related to Riki’s narcolepsy? I suppose we will find out more about it later on. For now, the next episode appears to introduce yet another girl who might join the team.
More Rin! More Cats! I hope they’ll continue this way, they’re really doing a good adaptation! *_*
I’m hearing the same from other people as well.. While the animation isn’t up to par, it’s great that JC Staff is trying their hardest to adapt closely to the source material. I hope they continue doing the same for the future.
