Hyouka – Episode 9 – No Ending in Sight

June 18, 2012 by Chikorita157 9 Comments

Oh my, I went overboard!

If you thought the movie is terribad, just wait until you hear the endings the committee tried to come up with!

Believe it or not, finishing an incomplete mystery is no easy task. After listening to all the theories from the people who worked on the film, they sound rather lame. The first two relied on the window, which had no signs of being open. The last is clichéd beyond belief and have nothing to do with mystery. How is Friday the 13th a mystery film? It’s more like a slasher film. Either way, it showed how incompetent they are when it comes to mystery, which is no wonder why Sturgeon’s Law keeps holding. They should have made a comedy movie involving four girls eating cake and drinking tea in a light music club. Oh wait! Someone already done that!

Best part of this episode is right here! Eru being totally drunk…

While the Classic Literature Club fails to come up with a good ending to finish this lousy film, Eru just stole the spotlight. Apparently, she ate a whole box of Whisky Candies and got drunk from it. Her gradual change in behavior was hilarious, although it’s sad that we didn’t hear her famous catch line while she acted drunk. Even so, it makes me wonder why she keeps eating them even though they taste horrible? Probably it’s the same reason Akiko keeps eating her mysterious jam. Who knows, but at this rate, I think the movie will never get an ending, which Fuyumi wanted. Then again, it might not be impossible if they look deeper into it.

Eru is really awesome, how in the nine hells is she able to get drunk by eating some random candy?! 😀

It’s whiskey candy. It’s described as such in the novel translations I looked up. 😛

I would have thought that the alcohol would go away from the whisky if you cook it long enough. Still, considering how much she ate (basically the whole box), it’s plausible that one can get drunk from the residual alcohol inside it.

Needless to say, it kind of reminded me of the time Nagisa got drunk… well, that is different since she legal drinking age and Eru didn’t act totally crazy for several minutes.

Eh? Terribad movie? Incomplete mystery? What the hell are you talking about?!

This anime is about Chii-chan, her exploits and her being curious and moe. Everything else is irrelevant background.

Super cool story bro… You must be high or something because the mystery is terrible. No one in their right mind would make an incomplete movie and expect people to enjoy it.

Keep dreaming in your dreamworld. You will never face reality.

        What?

Man, don’t tell me you are taking these pre-teen-level “Hyouka mysteries” seriously! Pease, don’t tell me that or I scream (vanilla one)!

        Btw, did you watch Minami-ke?

No I haven’t, but as a matter a fact, I do take the mysteries seriously…

Vanilla with strawberries! Do you treat them as puzzles?

I think Minami-ke would fit perfectly into your list of fav animes. And they are going to have 4th season coming winter or spring….
