It’s the last episode and Milky Holmes goes back to farming with their toys? What?
After defeating the villain, it seems that Milky Holmes forgot about being detectives yet again and went back to farming. The only difference is that they using toys instead of doing it physically. To add effect, the musical number from Episode 3 makes a return, which made it more hilarious.
Aside from the farming, it appears that they doing their best so Henriette will return. The funny part is, they fail to recognize her when she is in front of them! I suppose the perfume she used was only driving them away. The only thing that will catch their attention is the detective mascot contest, which various characters including Kokoro takes part in. All the participants end up losing in the qualifying rounds, except for Sheryl and Henriette. I expected this since they faced each other like they did in the first season finale. The only big difference, they had a dance off which is great although Henriette won just on appearance.
With the girls finally reuniting with Henriette, does this mean that they will finally stop being failures? The answer is never as they lose their toys again through some freak accident with all of them falling to the ground while big pans hit their heads. From this, I got a feeling that the creators still have more shenanigans up their sleeves for another season in the future, thus they have to become useless again. Despite this, it was a great finale.
Final Thoughts
Like the first, the second season of Tantei Opera Milky Holmes is more of the same, except the craziness getting turned up a notch. The thing that still makes Milky Holmes a very entertaining show is the comedy, which takes it to insane levels. In addition, there were some serious moments underneath the comedy such as Episode 7 where the school gets destroyed by Aresené’s mightily fist.
As a whole, the second season of Milky Holmes remains a very entertaining show that doesn’t need a plot. Hopefully, the creator will continue with another sequel in the future by bringing in more fresh jokes and possibly allow Milky Holmes retain their toys permanently.
Final Rating: 9.2/10, A, Very Good
