Somehow, I have a certain urge to watch Papa no Iukoto o Kikinasai (lit. Listen to me, Girls. I am Your Father!) because the girls looked so endearing. Also, I felt bored, so I decided to watch it for myself to see how it was like.
The story focuses on a first year college student named Yuuta Segawa who is a first year college student majoring in Literature. His parents apparently passed away when he was young, so Yuri, his older sister raised him until college. Apparently, she has two daughters (Miu and Sora) that her husband, Singo had from his previous marriage. They also had a legitimate child named Hina. Apparently, she wants Yuuta to look after them while she and Singo goes away on vacation.
From the looks of what happens in the beginning, Yuuta is a pretty lucky man after drinking too much and getting dragged into a room with another girl. He manages to catch some attention to an attractive and mystery woman named Raika. She has the tenancy to smack Shuntarou’s butt for being a big pervert with a fan. After watching that scene, it makes me wonder if he is a masochist. Aside from that, she is certainly busty, which is no wonder why she is really popular despite being mostly unobtainable. Still, I would never drink a drop of alcohol to the point of passing out since I want to keep my brain cells and not have an increased risk for cancer. Besides, it’s a big waste of money to get a certain feeling for a short period of time, but that’s just me.
After you watch a good amount of Anime, you might notice that some characters have some similarities in appearance. When I saw Hina for the first time, she looked somewhat familiar to Hibki because of the hairstyle. However, there is a difference since Hina doesn’t wear a full ponytail. Even so, she is adorable like other children of her age. As for the other two, Miu acts a bit old for her age even though she is only ten years old and Sora, she has a crush on Yuuta after meeting him for the first time. Still, Yuuta walking into her room while she dressed seemed clichéd as you can easily predict what happens afterwards.
The first episode of Papa no Iukoto o Kikinasai was rather cute. Although it has some fan service, I feel that it underneath the comedy is the family bonding and heartwarming moments. From the looks of the next episode, it will tell us a bit more of what happens next with the family that is closer to the Anime’s title.
