Miraculously, our power finally returned on Monday after I spent two nights sitting in a cold, dark room. Thankfully, there were no trick-or-treaters this year, so we didn’t have to go through the annoyance of the doorbell ringing every minute and having to pass out candy.
Aside from that, Ika Musume finally comes back from hiatus to make our day brighter along with Ritsuko’s comeback as an idol. Fate/zero on the other hand, it was somewhat disappointing, but still remains strong show. In addition to this, I will share this year’s pick for the Aniblogger Secret Santa project. (Image Source)
Ranked Episodes
1. The iDOLM@STER – Episode 18
While Ritsuko is not my favorite idol, watching her other side of herself was really nice and she looked cute. Not only that, we got to hear tidbits of “Seven Color Button,” Ryuuguu Komachi’s new song on the Playstation 3 version of iDOLM@STER 2. The only thing that bugged me is her performance of “Ippai Ippai” since it sounded rough. I guess the voice actor wanted to give an impression of nervousness before gaining confidence from her fans.
On a side note, thank god Jupiter didn’t show up in this episode. Also, Azusa with the mumps simply looked funny and disturbing at the same time. When I saw her like this, I couldn’t help it and I had to keep looking the same scene again and again.
2. Fate/zero – Episode 6
I have to admit, this episode slightly disappointed me not only with the lack of Weaver and Rider, but it had Caster! In addition, there wasn’t any charisma from the other characters in the latter half. Fortunately, Irisvel’s extreme driving skills and Kirtsugu blowing up a hotel caught my attention from the weaker parts.
3. Shinryaku?! Ika Musume – Episode 5
Although the last part was depressing, the first two were amusing. I just love how Ika completely totals a RC truck and then begs for forgiveness by having Takeru and Eiko control her with the controller. To put the cherry on the top of the sundae, Kiyomi’s secret wish to have bigger breasts was amusing.
Unranked Episodes
Working’!! Episode 5
(Would have ranked #4)
It’s kind of sad to see Kyoko go cold turkey on eating the food supply. However, the lost little girl was criminally cute that she instantly gave me a feeling of endearment.
Notes: Tamayura ~hitotose~ is officially on hold until the end of the season due to lack of quality subs. There won’t be any replacement for this.
Other Things
Secret Santa Project
Yep, it’s that time of year again. Since I’m participating in this project, I have received my picks for the season. At the end of this week, I will decide on a title and start watching it on my free time. I don’t plan to blog any of these titles until I finish since it will only slow things down and that I have a busy schedule until the semester’s end. Here are the picks:
- Voices of a Distant Star – OVA (Will be done after 2 or 3 done as a bonus review)
- Soredemo Machi wa Mawatteiru – 12 Episodes
- Kuragehime – 11 Episodes
If you have any suggestions of which one I would watch regarding 2 or 3, just voice your opinion in the comments.
I really loved Kuragehime…but I like josei shows. I watched a couple of SoreDemo, but couldn’t get into it, mainly due to Omigawa Chiaki’s voice that novajinx likens to an angle grinder.
I suppose Josei is a mature version of shoujo… I should be able to handle that considering that is better received than the other title, but definitely will be a new experience since I haven’t watch any shows of that demographic.
I guess you could call it a mature version of shoujo. Typically josei is about women that are past high school, vs shoujo which is not. The shows I’ve watched are stylistically similar. If you’d like to try other josei shows that are really good, I recommend Honey and Clover. Heck, I don’t know too many that don’t like that show, but that would be for another time.
It looks like I’m going to watch Overman King Gainer for my Secret Santa, with a side of Gunsmith Cats. Apparently Santa thought I needed to watch some action anime for xmas. :p
Have fun… I’m planning to start watching some of it in the coming weeks, although I won’t be blogging about it considering that the show aired last year and would be redundant. But yes, I’m doing two reviews this year since the OVA won’t take long to watch and review.
