Makoto finally gets some time in the spotlight and desires to become a princess.
Given that most parents brings up their children normally and don’t dare to mess with the gender roles, they grow up normally. For Makoto, her father apparently couldn’t get another child and decided to foster her as a boy instead. It worked for a while, but eventually she notices her gender and now wants to become more feminine. It’s understandable since she still has so many female fans compared to male ones and she got bullied for her boyish looks. Still, it doesn’t prevent her from dreaming about becoming princess that gets saved by a prince. When she reads an shōjo manga with a prince saving a girl, she had a lot enthusiasm and wants to become that girl. Sadly, this reality is still out of her reach as the Producer insists giving work based on her strengths, being the prince.
As Makoto gets discouraged by having to play the role of a prince again, that scumbag Planet Jupiter appears again. I thought they messed around with 765 Productions enough when they tried to kick Hibiki off her own show and failed? Now they want to ruin Makoto the same way by intimidating her. Unfortunately, she almost went down to their level by getting provoked and wanting to fight them. Fortunately the Producer held her back and prevented the Pandora’s box of trouble from opening.
After the recording finished, the Producer spends valuable time with Makoto and even goes on a date. Quite surprisingly, the Producer is very skilled at a zombie shooting game that looks like Left 4 Dead. In comparison, Makoto shoots the gun repeatedly and fails. This is something I would never do since it’s a waste of ammunition. Nevertheless, she changes to a skirt and decides to go on a date with him where she gets treated like an actual girl. It brings many fun moments of them together inside the amusement park. Especially towards end where she gets a princess like ending while riding a marry go round. Sadly, there was some trouble as some gang members tried to beat two girls up and she can’t possibly leave them behind. The Producer surprisingly takes the punch the thugs gave, which kind of proves that he values his idols’ safety over himself.
Although Makoto can’t shred her tomboy qualities instantly, there is still hope for her to become the princess that she dreams of. Perhaps someday, a boy will understand what she went trough and become her biggest fan or even boyfriend. On the other hand, I liked how Miki and the Futami Twins got all crazy over the Producer’s date with Makoto. Maybe he wants a harem ending that has a relationship with Makoto, Ami, Mami and Miki. Either way you look at it, he is a very lucky man.
Not to mention, Makoto looks a lot prettier in the dress she wore in the ending. That is the right way to do it, not going magical girl and saying overly cute lines.
Seeing another side of Makoto was great! I do enjoy watching that character even and that date with producer was amazing! Great insert song this week. And you could tell Makoto’s date made Miki so jealous haha well she does call him hunny…
Who’s next?! For a nice one on one date with producer xD
Ritsuko is up next from the looks of it. Considering that I haven’t played the first games, I don’t know much about her story or idol performances. So, this is going to be an interesting episode next time.
