In effort to make the girls of 765 Productions more noticeable, they appear on a wacky Iron Chief-like show with a crazy frog host. While it seemed fun for Haruka, Hibiki, and Takane, Chihaya wasn’t pleased with the lack of singing at the event.
With a show like Gero Gero Kitchen, it’s expected that it will be an over the top cooking show. They essentially have one of the girls from each team dash into a pile of white foam attempting to grab a flag for a bonus ingredient. Believe it or not, the girls cooking look seemingly good even though the taste is questionable. Even so, it seems that the producers and cameramen were having a field day with Haruka’s klutziness to get her panty shot with a few glimpses of Chihaya’s. Unfortunately, it went too far that Chihaya became bitter about the whole thing during the first half of the production.
It’s true that being an idol sometimes involve jobs that are unglamorous and/or something that he/she would rather not do. For Chihaya, she has a love for singing and doesn’t care about the other activities with her career. This is very noticeable in the first half when she wasn’t enjoying herself. She eventually flips out when the mascot went too far in order to get a panty shot from Haruka. Her reaction was brave since it was getting out of hand and I would probably do the same as well. While the producer isn’t at fault, he redeems himself by understanding her feelings and encouraged her to do her best no matter what. From his encouragement, she was able to break from the seriousness and enjoyed herself in the second part. From this, I felt that she deserved a lot of praise for going through with it even if it’s not something she wanted to do.
After watching this episode, I’m starting to like Chihaya more as her life is relatable to ours. While we don’t know the reason why she lives alone, her character is rather melancholic and hopefully we get to learn more about her situation in another episode. Along with her sadness, her ending song was nice and filled with emotion, which shows her love for singing.
Additionally, Takane looked really pretty in her waitress outfit. Her appearance beside Chihaya and curiosity with the frog head simply stole the attention away from everything else.
Of course, we can’t forget about the durian as they are really smelly, but tastes good! I just don’t really get the obsession towards them since they also made an appearance in A Channel with durian burgers. Maybe some people like the smell and taste of the fruit. Who knows…
Takane! Reminds me of Misaka from Railgun both of them looveee frogs! Or Takane likes weird things? xD
Nice episode! I liked how we got some time to watch Chihaya finally having fun and getting into the whole cooking show. I was thinking the same thing as her like cooking show?! I thought they were singers. But they did explain they need money so this works, besides it made for some funny scenes.
Yes! Those camera guys were all over the girls when they tripped or fell over xD
I think having the girls on a cooking show will allow the girls to get more noticed… Companies are simply not going to give them singing events off the bat until they are confident that the girls are ready… At least Chihaya managed to have fun in the end and she is pretty cute.
