It seems that another year has passed by and I have finally reached my important milestone in Anime Blogging. Today is my second year anniversary since I started this blog back in February 17, 2009. Many things had happened during my second year of blogging I want to share some of the events that I thought was important. (Image Source)
When I progressed into my second year of blogging, my tastes for Anime have grew a lot. Compared to my first year of blogging, I have tried out a good number of shows that I haven’t seen before, For the most part, I enjoyed most of them while a select few got dropped like flies. For the latter part of the year, the Secret Santa Project that happened in December was really fun. I watched all the episodes of Haibane Renmei on the night before Christmas Eve and finishing it off on that day since I procrastinated. After finishing and reviewing the show, I felt that it was one of those shows I wouldn’t have found out if I didn’t participate in the project. So pretty much, I was glad to participate in it.
Second, the blog has evolved drastically compared to when I first started to blog back in 2009. With the preparation for the AniBlog Tournament, I have worked on a new design based on Thematic Framework with the use of appealing colors. Compared to the old theme, the new one loaded a lot faster and took advantage of CSS3. The design gradually grew when I converted it to a child theme and played around with the design. Around the same time, BraveNewCode has released WPTouch Pro and since I am a heavy mobile user, I brought the plugin. I was very content on how it worked on my iPhone. Lastly, my writing style has gradually changed and I limit myself on synopsis and screenshots to focus on sharing analysis and thoughts. Posts are checked for grammar two to three times for quality control.
On the flip side, the evolution of the blog had some rough edges. When I attempted to change domains and tried to replace the URLs, my posts were accidently deleted. After that, I worked hard to get the majority of the content and comments restored. Few months later, the host I was on started to struggle with the growing traffic, so I had to find a new host. In November, I moved my blog to paid hosting to continue the sustained growth and my dedication to the site.
For me, I enjoyed to blog about Anime because it is a medium that I passionately enjoy writing about while improving my writing skills. Anime Blogging takes time, money and dedication to make it something that one can be proud of. In addition, Anime Blogging has also helped me to connect with other Anime bloggers and I had learned new things. While it takes a lot of effort to keep a blog active, especially when I go to college, it was still a rewarding experience.
I thank all the readers, my friends and fellow bloggers that supported me during these two years. Let’s hope for a strong third year of Anime Blogging.
Overall Statistics at the 2nd Anniversary: 547 posts, 1033 comments, 15 series completed (TV Series and Movies).
Congratulations, and a happy 2nd anniversary to your blog. 🙂 I hope you have more fun years to come.
Congrats on the two year anniversary~ ^_^ And thanks as always for all your support and help with my blog. Hope we’re both able to keep up the good work for years to come!
Well thank you! I will continue to support you well into the future. 🙂
The next step from here on out is to avoid blog death. Once you hit year 3, you’re pretty much a part of the landscape. Best wishes for the next 365 days of bloggin!
Considering I have more than a year and 9 months of hosting, I will be here for awhile and most likely in the future. When I start working, I will have money to cover hosting, thus I will post what I can handle in a week.
3rd year milestone is easily achievable at the state I’m in.
Congrats!
Congrats ^__^ I like those stats you listed at the bottom of your post. Hopefully you’ll keep going up and up 😀
2 down, 155 to go
If only 2012 doesn’t happen, which I highly in doubt… but really can’t imagine how the aniblogosphere will be in 2166…
Congratulations! Always nice to see another blogger join the two-or-more year club. So many fizzle before that, so this is quite the milestone!
Keep up the great blogging!
Considering how many blogs are dying after one year, I agree… its great to see people who put effort into their blogs beyond the first year and the blogosphere should commend them on their hard work…
Also, thank you!
Congrats! Looking forward to more posts~
@Khal, @Janette, @Chii, @Valence
Thank you for congratulating me. ^^;
I’m a bit late here, but congratulations!
It’s never too late to congratulate me. 🙂
Thank you for supporting me.
