Besides the second season of K-ON, which I will be covering in a future Anime Moments post, there was an OVA that released in the first season. Basically, the Light Music Club decides to do a live house performance, which they are very excited about. They met many girl bands they haven’t heard before and had lots of pleasurable time with them. (Image Source)
While there are some really funny moments, there are some that were memorable… This includes:
Putting the backstage passes on everything! – The girls supposed to be put on the guitar case, but Yui kind of went overboard. Yui puts it on some parts of her body until she finally places it on one of her shoulder. While normal people wouldn’t do that in real life, it was funny and cute.
Filling out the performance sheet – its serious business since it determines the lighting and sound effects of the performance… Yui eventually gets help from a neighboring band to fill the whole thing out.
Practice run was an Epic Failure – The girls rush out after drinking tea and cake. They got a bit too excited that messed up real badly with all the girls except Ritsu fell to the ground. Fortunately, the instruments didn’t get damaged, so it was good.
Azusa and the Tiger Ears – When the girls wake up to see the sunset, Yui points out the tiger ears on Azusa’s head. She finally notices and she looked pretty cute.
The OVA has a nostalgia factor. While it’s not like the excessive and fun comedy in the second season, this OVA was pretty fun episode to get in the viewers in the mood for the second season.
