As shown in the last episode, Ika is a genius at math. Sadly, Ika seemed to lose her person to prey on. In addition, the American alien scientist takes her away since Ika messed up. I guess Ika is having a really bad day with this.
Part 1 – Nagisa Toughens Up
It was evident in the previous episodes that Ika loves to take advantage of Nagisa’s fear of squid girls. Nagisa had a calm day of work until Eiko takes her to the house to celebrate her work. This is where Ika starts intimidating the crap out of Nagisa. As a result of Ika’s constant intimidation, this causes Nagisa to stay up all night. In a way, the way Ika reacts towards Nagisa can be seen as bullying.
In the end, Ika makes up with Nagisa, but she ends up running away and swimming into the ocean. This would make five episodes of Nagisa being scared of Ika.
Part 2 – Ika Gets Trapped and Bullied
I don’t have much to say about this part. Cindy pretty much traps Ika by tricking her by having her promise to go to the lab. When Eiko, Cindy and Ika arrive at the hidden laboratory, they saw three guys. They are so eccentric and want to bully her with the contraptions they have to ward of aliens.
The scientists act so childish that it’s not even funny. Heck, they are even top graduates from MIT. This makes Kokoro, a 13-year-old Harvard graduate from Milky Holmes look better than all the MIT scientists combined. On top of that, the scientists besides from Cindy don’t look so good. They look like evil geniuses or nerds in my opinion.
Part 3 – Ika is Good at Everything… but Sucks at Invading.
If you haven’t seen the fourth episode, there was a pretty girl in the Ika mask. Well, she appears again to work at the Lemon stand. Chizuru and Eiko brought her there after a guy hit her. The girl’s issue primarily lies with her father’s attempts to make her more outgoing. The mask and having her wear skimpy outfits don’t really help. Even though the mask helped her to interact with people, the bad outweighs the good; the mask actually scared the people away and hides the girl’s cute face.
Ika is forced to work at her father’s restaurant. Towards the end, she performs for an audience, which brought a crowd. Considering that she is great at swimming, playing games, communicating, math and performing, it’s not surprising that this one squid girl can do everything, except evading.
People can’t really take Ika’s invasion seriously because she looks childish and cute. On top of that, she doesn’t have many supporters to help take over the human population. So, I guess it’s better to get along with human kind and dump her plans of invading.
