Perhaps bile fascination1 had driven me to watch anime that some people love to hate. If you read the show’s description, the show gives you a thought about something rather perverted. That thing is Sadomasochism, a fetish that is all about getting pleasure from giving/receiving pain. This is the central them of MM since the male lead is such a masochist.
From the looks of the show, it features a blond hair, off the mill tsundere, Mio Isurugi2 and an extremely shy girl named Arashiko Yuuno. Both of these girls seem to have some pleasure in beating the crap out of Taro Sado. Not to mention, his last name, Sado kind of resembles Sadomasochism. What a coincidence! The goal is to have the two girls cute Taro from his masochistic personality.
The first episode also features a really cute trap, “Princess Shihori”, which in reality is Tatsukichi Hayama. When Taro found out that his crush is a guy, I burst with laughter. Tatsukichi certainty makes a fine trap to me.
In the end, I had mixed feelings about the whole show in general. I have the feeling that MM could turn out to be a bust like Nogizaka Haruka Purezza and Mayoi Neko Overrun if they throw too much fanservice3 and/or get off track from the story. On the other hand, its somewhat interesting considering that no anime has really touched sadomasochism in full detail.
At the time being, I am going to stick to it for the next two episode to see if its get better or worse. If it gets worse, you know damn well that I will write an editorial why I have dropped it and explain everything that they done wrong in the show. Then again, it can also turn out to be good if they do things right.
Last thing to mention, the opening theme sounds pretty bad. No offense, but it seems that Taketatsu Ayana lacks some singing talent 4. Ending theme was okay, but it sounded like generic j-pop. Let that set the tone for the rest of the episodes to come.
