This definitely has to be the second most emotional episode with the last episode being the most emotional out of the whole series.
The episode was the most emotional since the curse is pretty much taking a big toll on Misuzu. On top of that, Haruko gets into a big confrontation over Misuzu’s parents in adopting her. Also, Misuzu starts having a slight amnesia the next day. Because of the amnesia, it makes things considerably rougher for Haruko as Misuzu’s father wants her back.
After the plea to keep Misuzu for three more days, I have noticed that Misuzu became a bit brattier and only wants to stay at home and play cards. The way she acted when Haruko takes Misuzu to the beach slightly reminds me of Kanna’s bratty personality. Since Haruko could not stand her bratty behavior, she walked away from Misuzu with frustration. Soon after, she finally takes Misuzu home when she finds Misuzu on the ground after she fell out of the wheel chair. In the end, Haruko felt depressed over the whole situation since she has no hope of getting Misuzu to bond with her. It’s not until the last day in a half that Misuzu starts bonding with her again.
The beach scene was very motional when they depart on the beach. When I watch Misuzu giving a fit when her father took her away, she calls Haruko “mommy.” That pretty much stroked my heart with sadness. After they reunited with each other, the whole scene felt rather heartwarming. As a result of the heartwarming emotion from the scene, it was easily one of the most memorable scenes in the show.
Also, If you have not notice, Haruko cuts off a bit too much of Misuzu’s hair. Even though I liked Misuzu’s longer hair, she is still pretty cute after her hair cut and it signifies a new beginning.
In the end, we know that the next episode is going to be heartbreaking. So, it is better off to leave the post off here and prepare for the final moments with Haruko and Misuzu.
