Even though the content in this episode looks fillerish, it was actually in the manga too.
The story goes like this:
A couple brings a huge peach home and this popped out of the huge peach and out came the Peach Boy Misaki….
Misaki finds Usui cooking those animals and they get released so they find the “Oni.”
They found out that the girls are gone from the village. They set out to find the “Oni” and they get attacked by Igarashi’s pirate ship brought by the idiot bird.
Usui uses a Rocket Propelled Grenade at Igarashi’s ship and it sinks. They arrive at the island and Misaki changes into this tattered maid outfit. She finds out that Usui was the Oni and the girls decided to go with him because they couldn’t stand the boys anymore… Misaki goes
Like a true tsundere would… The three idiot animals get killed off and…
Overall, the whole premise of the story is ridiculous. I didn’t know they had rocket propelled grenades back then… Not only that, nearly the whole cast was in this episode including:
Yep, you got trapped! Also, Misaki’s younger sister makes an appearance by taking away the dango the idiots wanted to eat in exchange for a raffle postcard. Just like taking candy from a baby… Although there was no real plot development, this is pretty much the funniest parody to come out of a shoujo anime. Yes, its fillerish, but it got its merits. Usui remains the perfect guy and Misaki… a hot headed tsundere? It may not be the best episode, but I enjoyed it for what its worth.
The ending of the story is what the title says off the bat if you haven’t realized.
Even Peach Boy Becomes a Maid
Exactly what it says on the tin…. As Misaki actually wears the maid outfit.
Notes after this Post (July 3, 2010): I haven’t realized this until today, but this episode is a parody of a well known folktale of “Momotarou“, which is basically Peach Boy in Japanese. The story is pretty much the same, except some plot twists and stuff.
