As the first round is coming to a close with the last few matches, competition is becoming fierce. As always, my review criteria won’t change as we review another 8 Anime Blogs. I will be posting this early since next week, I need to spend time studying for exams for four subjects. The next 8 blog reviews will be posted on Monday…
Before going on, this review Digest will contain screenshots of the actual website and how they look on my machine, so slow connections, beware… I’m basing all content on quality, not the blogger’s overall opinion on issues and stuff. Also, if you want to vote in the tournament, you can do it over here.
Day 13
Match 25
_ism and Shit Storm are both Troll Blogs, but I am going with the most popular one, _ism… I may not agree with his trolls, but they are better written and funnier… I have nothing else to say, but it’s the battle of the Troll Anime Blogs!
Match 26
Astrobunny is not much of an episodic and more of the editorial blog type. Layout is pretty clean and navigable. However, there is not much that stands out in the blog and also see the lack of frequent updates as well… so there isn’t much to say, except the theme looks nice…
From the looks of it, Anime Void is a typical episodic blog… but even less updates than AstroBunny. The problem with the layout is that it looks rather plain and the author is missing an archive on the sidebar or on the navigation bar. Also, what is with these people putting these toolbars on the bottom of the page. I thought Wibiya was annoying enough, but there is one on the right hand side and the bottom… Not only that, there are two blocks that are placed there by ClicktoFlash because it uses Adobe Flash because Flash sucks so much on Mac OS X and Linux and Flash is known to overheat the computer and crash the web browser. Besides Youtube videos, no one should use Flash on the site… Coming back to the toolbar, the toolbar functions exactly like Wibiya and is called the Gigya Toolbar… It’s very unnecessary since no one hardly uses it, it’s not cool and it’s annoying. Because of the flaws with the layout, Astrobunny gets this match since the content and frequency is around the same and I wished the author of Anime Void put more effort in his blog… It needs a lot of fixing to do.

Day 14
Match 27
Memories of Eternity, although doesn’t update frequently writes content that is outstanding. Most of his posts are editorial writing and analysis of Anime, Visual Novels, etc. The blog has a clean and simple layout… Otherwise, it’s a very nice blog as some people say, although I haven’t read the posts in whole just yet. Maybe I will start reading once I get the time… :p
Unlike Memories of Eternity, Oballer’s Blog is too meta… The problem is that the author focuses on different things with the mix of Anime stuff, which gives a very bad taste. My suggestion in this case is to split the blog so that you are covering Anime on on blog and all the rest of the stuff that are not related to Anime, Manga, Visual Novels, etc on another blog. Readers are going to get turned off since of the disorganization of content presented in this blog. Therefore, Memories of Eternity automatically gets my vote…
Match 28
There is not much to say, but Eye Sedso is a pretty unique blog that has some coolness… Mostly editorial stuff, although the author focuses on episode time after time again.
The problem with Densetsu no Shounen A is that it is a episodic blog and his episodic posts spends way too much on the synopsis. RandomC already does this. Instead of doing that, just put your thoughts down or anything Meta and done… Avoid summarizing the episode because it would be done already by other blogs. Nice design, but the author needs to focus on other content and also post more frequently! Therefore, Eye Sedso has a upper hand this match.

Memories of Eternity and Eye Sedso
This wraps up the AniBlog Tourney digest. This leaves two more matches to go over. Part 6 will have Unmei Kaihen vs Continuing World, the null set vs bad luck party, We Love Maids vs Desu ex Machina. The last match, I will be doing constructive criticism for Anime Princess since I can’t really review my blog myself and it is obvious that I will vote for myself…

Ah, I’ve found another good blog to subscribe to.
Although oballer is a good friend of mine who I have known my whole life has his problems with Memories, I actually find that Memories is a pretty good blog. The only problem with it is that the content is usually about things that I don’t really know about/might contain spoilers for me (same thing with We Remember Love, which is also good when I can read it), so I can’t really read them without worrying about ruining a show for myself. The only post I’ve really ever read on Memories was about The World God Only Knows, and all I can say is that Eternal’s a very smooth writer. Also, I’ve discovered that The World God Only Knows is an awesome manga (I still voted for oballer, even though personally, I thought his smack talk was just kind of….I don’t know to me he sounded like a 12 year old. I do think he has some good posts though, even if most of them are off topic. I’m not really going to get into that much though).
Anyway, keep these coming, they’re good posts, I wish I found them sooner.

Glad to see them helpful. :p
I understand… there is always going to be people that we can’t stand or something… That’s life and we all need to get along… A tornament after all is more about content, not just the person in the end of the day. It is for fun, so people shouldn’t take it too seriously. :p
