Maybe the Karaoke contest isn’t a good idea since no one sent anything… so what else can anyone participate in… Well how about a Audiosurf competition since the game is cheap (only costs $10 off Steam) and can play on any computer. Perhaps some Anime Bloggers already have Audiosurf on their machines already. Readers can also participate as long they hade a valid email address and a Melative and/or MAL account.

My idea is to have the bloggers vote on 3 good songs (OP/ED) from the Fall 2009 season or within the Fall 2009 season (September 1 and on) which everyone will play. Then, everyone post the screenshot of the results screen and submit them to me and I will make a chart comparing all the scores and find out who is the winner. If you don’t know what is Audiosurf, it’s a rhythm-puzzle game that involves matching up blocks so you get points.

Before starting the contest, we first need to agree on 3 songs for everyone to play. Once we choose them, everyone participating must play these songs in Audiosurf and take a screenshot of the results screen (using FRAPS or some other program) and submit them to me. Then I will determine who is the winner.
The rules are simple. For casual, you can only play Mono with Ironmode on. In Pro level, you can only use any of the puzzle characters with Ironmode off (Vegas, Eraser, Pointman Pro, Pusher, DV Pro). The levels will be graded separate, so everyone will be a fair chance.
Deadline to suggesting songs will be on December 11th and the contest will start on Dec 12th until the 30th. This will give you plenty time to perfect your runs and submit the results.
Bloggers can additionally suggest songs below (no links to them please) if they already have a blog. Please spread the word this time. I will have a dedicated site for real up this time. Once the selection process is done, you may get started by playing the selected song. You need to make a copy of the music file and add a space and [AAS-Holiday09] afterwards. Sounds good! Pontifus jokingly made an “Aniblogger AudioSurf League” back in the spring, but I think it’s been mostly inactive since then.
As for song recommendations… hmm. Railgun OP, Seitokai no Ichizon OP, and “Golden Time Lover” from FMA:B?
(btw, can we participate in both the Casual and Pro rankings? I’m probably somewhere in between, but I think people might underestimate their ability and try to win at Casual if we can only pick one)

Sure, but they are completely different rankings. There is no Mono in Pro in this competition since any Puzzle character, especially Eraser can demolish Mono Pro most of the times and I don’t really want any complaints.

Seriously… If you can afford Anime DVDs and Figurines, you can sure afford Audiosurf. It’s only 10 freaking dollars. =/

@JANAiBlog – Don’t worry, you can attempt as many times you can. I need to tag these songs to separate it from the normal leaderboard so it will be easier to obtain the scores. I am not recording the scores until Dec 30, which I wil take the data from the leaderboard.
You have to remember that you must use the files I provide everyone via email, or it won’t go on the right leaderboard.
