Extra thick peach nectar…. I think I’ll pass….
After waiting for weeks dying to see another Kyoto Animation’s Key adaptions after Clannad ~After Story~ was finished weeks ago, I finally received my Air TV Boxset… which I had to wait because it wasn’t released until late April.
You might be wondering, why would you watch something that is 5 years old… Well, if you haven’t know about the history of Kyoto Animation and Key… thats the reason because basically they revolutionize how Visual Novels are adapted to TV because they are faithful to the original source material which others didn’t care about. Thats why Toei’s Kanon was largely forgotten due to it’s poor animation in 2002… Also, I became interested after watching Kanon 2006 remake in late December and wanting to watch Air ever since.
Now for the unboxing pics…
Ever since ADV, the original license holder transfered the license for Air TV to Funanimation, you will notice the logo is different. The boxset ironically is the size of a regular DVD case and uses slim DVD cases to store all 4 CDs. The first one contains the main series and second one the Air in Summer special.
Inside the DVD case reveals the two DVDs… nothing else special… Note the first disk is missing because I’m currently ripping it so I don’t have to use the discs to play it and also I can play it anytime without popping in the disc (keep in mind that ripping a DVD for backup use is legal under fair use).
I am planning to start Air TV next week after I finish my finals and I will be posting a post every week for every episode. Hopefully I will enjoy it as I did with the other series Kyoto Animation did..
Edit: I haven’t started watching, but I look at one scene and the picture quality is pretty decent.
