With 12 days remaining until Christmas and since I don’t want to write a post on Christmas Day, its time to get started as I write about some highlights on Anime in addition to fandom stuff in 12 separate short posts. For the first day, I’m going to focus on a show that fits the mood a bit named Amagami SS Plus. (Image Source)
It’s been a long time since the first season of Amagami SS aired in the summer of 2010. While it started off strong, it kind of became a mixed bag. Most of this came from Junichi being a pretty weak-minded male lead, although he is not the worst compared to others. While he became devastated when he got deserted on Christmas Eve the first time when his girlfriend didn’t show up, it got better on the second try when he entered High School.
Like I mentioned in my review, the second season is a slight improvement as it wraps up every girls’ arc although it didn’t add much in terms of plot. However, this wasn’t the reason I’m mentioning this show for the first day. It’s because they finally resolved the one thing that bothered me the most about Rihoko’s arc from the first season. They finally got rid of the friend zone and actually have Junichi recognize her feelings for him. Despite her weight complex and overall clumsiness, this resolution also proved that Japan didn’t hate childhood friends to the point where they leave them in the friend zone forever. For that reason alone, that deserves a mention.
Tomorrow: Magical Detective Girls…
Ai and Sae are the best 😀 Now that when I think about it, they are both juniors, I swear, I’m not a lolicon.
Well clearly their conclusions are better done on the second season. But yes, probably Sae having another child is well is well you know and its kind of nice that she has a young daughter that resembles her.
