Aru Majo ga Shinu Made – Episode 12 (END) – The Truth about Meg’s Past and Eldora

June 17, 2025 by Chikorita157 2 Comments
Meg woke up from a bad dream.

After Meg manages to do the impossible — saving a girl’s life by transforming her into a cat girl and preventing a city from being destroyed by a tsunami — she starts having these strange dreams. Does it have to do with that mysterious woman and her past before she got adopted by Faust?

If you recall, Meg, during the New Year’s festival, ran into a mysterious veiled lady with long black hair and wearing a black dress. Eldora warned Meg that when she lifted the curse, she would lose something more precious in the process. We discover the moments of that magical disaster as Meg’s mother protects her in her final moments before she turns to crystal. Above, a mysterious lady was floating.

Meg had flashbacks of her original mother trying to save her, but consumed by the fallout of the magic, before Faust came to rescue Meg.

Meg feels a bit down as she takes a rest, trying to deliver something. She had more glimpses of that dream until she saw the mysterious lady in her dream. Of course, Eldora was right in front of her, looking for Meg as she took her home. That is when we find out that she is working on the core for the project that she is working on with Faust. That is when Faust reveals that Eldora is Meg’s sister, who Faust also adopts.

Meg takes a nap from a hard day of work.
Of course, when Meg wakes up, Eldora is there and wants to take her home.

At night, Meg sleeps, and then she sees those memories again of Meg’s mother trying to save Meg. When Meg opened her eyes, she saw Eldora floating in the sky saying something. Eldora was in the room. Meg becomes scared of her and reveals what she saw. Meg knew that Eldora had destroyed the city, and she admitted it in revenge for her original family’s death. Faust essentially took Meg in to atone for the act of revenge that Eldora did.

Meg also finds out that Faust adopted Eldora too.
Eldora came into Meg’s room as Meg wakes up from a bad dream.

Yes, Faust is in a challenging situation as she wants both of her daughters to live together and get along. However, given that Eldora is the one who harmed Meg and killed her family. Of course, if Eldora isolates herself, there won’t be anyone by her side, and the world will hate her. She knew full well that she committed the crime. However, Meg doesn’t blame her since she has no connection to the hero in her hometown. With that, Eldora disappears as she wants Meg to kill her with this. There is no wonder why Faust wanted to keep this a secret so Eldora wouldn’t split from the family.

Meg sees Fine off, but it’s funny how she didn’t do the marriage proposal here.

Even with these revelations, Meg seems motivated to find out what happened. While browsing the library, she discovers a hidden book about a country that is not on the map. She realizes that Orlov is a militaristic country that is opposed to magic, as their weapons are ineffective. They massacre mages and plot the dissolution of the Council of Magic.

You can see why Eldora essentially destroyed the entire country, given that she considers Orlov a threat. However, two wrongs don’t make a right, even if it’s well-intentioned. Still, I would have thought Meg would get upset, but given that she doesn’t remember much, it’s not too surprising to see her let Eldora off.

Meg heads off to her journey to learn more about her past and face Eldora.

With that, Meg becomes motivated to visit Orlov to learn more about what happened and her former hometown. Sure, Faust seems skeptical, but eventually, she allows her to, and of course, Meg gets approval from Jack to investigate all the disasters caused by magic. Of course, Fine seems to be the most emotional over Meg going away for a while. After all, she still calls Lapis home. Also, it was nice to see her owl and her cute green fluffy familiars tag along with her.

Final Thoughts

As expected, Aru Majo ga Shinu Made was an exciting and enjoyable show. Okay, besides Meg’s pleasant personality, which is cheerful and also conceited. I find Meg to be an amusing character at times, although she eventually grows as she helps more people, even if it puts her in dangerous situations. Part of her development into becoming a capable witch is thanks to Faust herself, as she gives advice and even rescues her when Meg is in trouble.

Of course, it’s funny to see Meg get annoyed at her and say silly things, even to the members of her ever-growing harem of Fine, Sophie, Inori, Chloe, and Coco. Another is Sophie attempting to make Meg get upset by sharing a photo of herself eating a dessert with Fine and telling Fine that she is cheating on her by getting close to Coco.

With that, I would like to see a sequel to see how the story ultimately ends, but in most cases, it might not happen. After all, I would like to see how Meg’s journey of discovering her past, confronting Eldora, and whether she left the curse on her unfolds. I guess there is always the source material in those cases.
