After Ruri discovers crystals and gems with Nagi, it motivates Ruri to get her tools. With that, they are looking for the shiny gold rocks. Yep, they are looking for gold this time.
This time, Ruri and Nagi are heading to a site to look for the shiny yellow-colored mineral. When they saw what looked like a mine, Nagi explained that it was there to test for the desired minerals. Nagi revealed that they are looking for gold.

The funny thing is that when Ruri hears this, she becomes motivated to find gold. After all, if she can manage to find enough, she can earn enough money to buy the stuff she wants, possibly, and of course, eat sweets. After arriving at the search site, she began breaking rocks in search of gold. However, her arm gets tired until Nagi tells her how to do it properly. Yes, she became surprised at how easy it was.

Of course, the amusing thing is that Ruri gets all excited when she thinks she’s found gold, only to find out it’s fool’s gold. It’s Pyrite. It’s amusing how Ruri remains in denial until Nagi performs the streak test, which leaves a black mark.

Yes, Ruri gets disappointed since she had her hopes up too high. The interesting thing is that most of them are cube-shaped, although Ruri discovered one with more than 6 sides. It’s an interesting and valuable discovery, but not one that’s momentary, of course, but rather a discovery that depends on their understanding of the world. In other words, Nagi tells Ruri not to focus just on momentary value. Still, this scene makes it look more intimate than it is.

In the second half, they went gold hunting. This time at a river, where they find placer gold. They are gold, shaped like a grain. However, it started raining and Ruri got disappointed. She seems worried that the gold will wash away when she hears the river will flood. She calls Nagi while everyone else is panicked, but she seems calm.

Believe it or not, there are quite a few cars as they are trying their luck at finding gold. Off the bat, Nagi and Ruri found three. It’s not too surprising that Nagi is not afraid, but instead finds this a good thing, as gold is heavy and thus requires a bigger force to bring it downstream. Additionally, a pothole is created by rocks spinning around in circles, which leaves more opportunities to find gold. They found a lot, although Ruri has to go a bit deeper.

In the end, they found 68 grains, which is a sizable amount. However, Ruri decides to take a short dive and finds a bigger piece of gold hidden. Nagi thinks it has been gathered and compressed at the same spot for a long time.

Interestingly, Ruri doesn’t plan to sell this one, as she found it and it holds special significance for her. I thought she was trying to find gold to get rich? I suppose that’s out of the door, especially with Nagi wanting to uncover discoveries rather than for monetary gain. Yes, the tantrums have decreased, but at least it’s good to see Ruri’s enthusiasm. It took her a while to discover that discovering these shiny gems is probably worth more than the money. As they say, money isn’t everything in life.
