After Minami goes golfing with Ayaka and Haruka for the first time, she tries to figure out her golfing further as Ayaka and Haruka take on some virtual golf challenges.
Minami struggled as she managed to get only a Bogey on the last hole. The funny thing is that she imagines getting the ball onto the green until she wakes up and realizes it is just a dream. That is while a penguin that covers her utility club.
During the break, we find out that Izumi is interested in golf. She is reading a light novel about a golfer girl golfing in another world using golf to defeat the demon lord. That is a pretty interesting story, but it indicates that Izumi might start having an interest in golf.
The main focus of this episode is Minami finding the thing she lacks. A signature shot of some sort. Seeing the old guys show off their skills is funny, but they end up in the hospital. I admit that it’s weird but not too surprising.
Minami still struggles as she wants to do a low shot, but she gets a high shot and vice versa. How does Haruka help her solve this issue of how Minami holds the club? I find Ayaka’s reaction when she saw Minami’s hands taped to the golf club funny. When Minami imagines how penguins move, she pulls off a low shot called the “Penguin Slider.” She managed to pull it off several times.
With that, Ayaka wants to do co-op golfing. The score is based on the best score. Apparently, it involves using a unique sensor with an iPad. I admit the challenges themselves are engaging with specific conditions. Funny how, on the sand level, the ants take the balls that end up in the sand and put them in a hole, which disqualifies them. The winning condition is to fill up the hole to win. Yes, there is a challenge to hit balls through hoops and stuff. It kind of reminds me of Mario Golf.
With the last mission, it requires one to chip in with one shot through a small strip of fairway. Hitting too high causes the ball to get shot down by the canons. This is where Minami(‘s new Penguin Shot comes into play, which allows them to quickly clear the course. Not to mention, they got first place on the global rankings. With that, Minami wants to participate in a scramble golfing tournament but will need a fourth player. I wonder where they will get the fourth member. We’ll see next time.
They will make an isekai out of anything. At least golf has history in RPGs so it works in that context.
I’m only 37 yet I can relate to the elder golfers’ struggles with back pains.
