As Sakiko tries to get her new band off from last time, we see a bit of backstory about why Sakiko quit her first band. Also, Nyamu seems unsatisfied with how the band is going, especially with those masks.
Of course, this episode leaves off from the last episode of MyGo as Sakiko’s band, Ave Mujica, had their first performance. As expected, they gained a huge popularity boost from their first performance.
However, Sakiko seems strict, as the band members cannot reveal their faces. Sakiko wants to build up their reputation in their music before revealing their identities. Of course, Nyamu looks pretty unsatisfied by the direction of the band of having to cover up their faces. More on that later.
As expected, we know from the first episode that Sakiko decided to quit the first band she made. You might be wondering, what is the cause? When her mother was alive, things were looking up. With Uika, she discovered girl bands after looking at a performance by Morfonica. With that, we know what Sakiko did. She formed a band called CRYCHIC.
Shortly after forming the band, her mother passed away. Her father said that everything would be fine. However, Sakiko eventually receives a call from her grandfather that the family disowned her father since he committed fraud. She decides to live with her father, taking that doll from her mother that she cherished. We see where Sakiko got inspired with the theme for Ave Mujica.
Of course, we finally learned why Sakiko decided to disband the band. With money troubles coming, she might have to go to a different school along with the questionable future of the band. She decided just to rip the band-aid off, which, of course, led to crying as she lost something in the end. Still, it’s easy to see why she hid the reason, as it might ruin her image.
As expected, her father moved to a run-down house as he turned to alcohol to relieve his problems with life. Sakiko looked after the house and even worked on jobs where she could. However, it doesn’t bring in enough money, so creating a band might get her out of the money problems.
Of course, I wonder why she bails out her father when he is just going to drink and get himself into jail. I understand it’s family, but if he is not going to take care of himself and go down the destructive path, no amount of helping will work. That is while Sakiko has her goal of her band performing at the Budokan eventually. Recently, he becomes violent as he throws a can at her. He doesn’t like the idea that his daughter is more successful than himself.
On the other hand, Sakiko’s problems aren’t getting any better. Nyamu seems unsatisfied and bored as she wants to do the reveal now. Sakiko wants to wait until Budokan can do it. As expected, Nyamu decides to disobey Sakiko and take off her mask while proceeding to take off the masks of other girls. Yep, Sakiko is not happy that Nyamu ruined her plans. It’s funny to see Anon and Soyo react when she finds out the identities of Ave Mujica members. Sure, Sakiko seems annoyed that her plans blew up, but she went along, which can be a blessing or a misfortune. We’ll see how Nyamu forcing a face reveal will impact Ave Mujica next time.
