Now that LLENN’s team finds out that the other team’s attempt to get into the base is fruitless, they realize they will need some teamwork to capture the base.
Last time, LLENN saw from the screen that the machine gun team was trying to get in by pretending to surrender. Of course, Pitohui can’t let them get in first, so she shoots some rounds to get them running away. At the same time, someone shot down LFPM’s drone, but at least they got the information they needed.
In short, LLENN went to all the teams in their plan to capture the base. Of course, most have two lives to make this work. Pitohui explains what they know so far. They execute the plan to get into the base, which involves taking it steady while strategically taking down the targets.
Those efforts allow LLENN, along with two others, to get into the castle. As expected, Tanya found the machine gun person but made a mistake on the spiral staircase, and the machine gun guy discovered her. The funny thing, he ran out of bullets and decided to resign. LLENN goes in further but happens to get captured and taken prisoner and gagged. The only way for her to get out is to kill herself in the game and respawn, as the chopper is about to come in 7 minutes. It’s a last-ditch effort to give her a chance to win it for the team.
After LLENN manages to respawn, there is a sense of urgency. There are only several minutes left. They are also dealing with someone with an RPG that takes out a good amount of players. They eventually regrouped as they were in a challenging situation until Pitohui took out the M9A1 bazooka. She has this weapon but couldn’t use it in Squad Jam 3 since it’s too big and heavy, but suitable to use in this situation.
They had the only remaining machine gun member surrender to distract them and bring a grenade. This distraction allowed Pitohui to come in to take down the remaining members. The funny thing is that Clarence and Shirley were in the game, too, and managed to sneak somewhere in the castle to take down one remaining member. LLENN comes in to take down one member of the NPC team, with Jacob being LLENN’s last opponent.
He is afraid of dying, and he asks why LLENN fights. LLENN says it’s fun before proceeding to kill Jacob with a knife. Jacob is fearful before LLENN makes the final kill. That said, Pitohui asks if anyone wants to celebrate over drinks, but everyone wants to do their own thing. As expected, LLENN’s showdown with Team SYNC has to wait another day, which is becoming a final theme.
Interestingly, the NPCs in this test play are not NPCs. They are patients who are currently suffering from PTSD. This virtual experience shook Jacob, and he asked why he was still alive. However, when he looks at the replay with LLENN about to kill him, he is in fear. He doesn’t want to work in a job like that.
Final Thoughts
As expected, Gun Gale Online 2 is a fun show. Sure, Squad Jam 3 is interesting as it takes a different spin on the concept of the island sinking, and they have to get to the ship. Not only that but each member also gets taken to a new team. It’s funny how Pitohui tricked everyone and LLENN so LLENN will be disadvantaged. Also, the whole capture-the-base thing is an interesting take on a new game mode, with the NPC team being players who experienced PTSD playing the game as a treatment.
Sure, besides a few LLENN and Pitohui moments, there hasn’t been that much progress there. Likewise, LLENN’s rematch with Team SHINC/Eva gets thwarted for one reason or another. I guess this is going to become a trend, unfortunately. It will be a while until a third season, but it’s still a fun show.
