Things are going well as the students prepare for the festival while Yuzu and Kurumi take the Magumi placement exam. However, Northern is doing something sinister as students, especially the standard study students, start to collapse for some reason.
As Yuzu and Kurumi head for the second day of testing, they run into Sally carrying a box of vegetables. However, something sinister is on her feet as she collapses. While Yuzu insists that Kurumi go ahead of her and take the exam, as Yuzu would rather risk her chance of getting into Magumi, Kurumi decides to stay behind. She remembers the charm that her grandmother used to make her feel better. She uses that charm on Sally; of course, she feels better, as we see in a flashback.
Believe it or not, she pulled it off as Yuzu saw it. Of course, she knows that this charm is ancient magic. Yuzu asks why she didn’t decide to take the exam, and she is okay with it. Kurumi knew that Yuzu didn’t, as she seemed okay with it, but not Mikana, as she got upset and blamed Kurumi for this. Yuzu had to explain why she decided to do this. Of course, Yuzu said if she left Sally behind just to take the exam and fulfill her dream, she would regret it.
As expected, Mikana came because Lemone collapsed the same way. Kurumi wonders what is the cause of this. However, Mikana starts to collapse in the same way. Kurumi gets a bit tired as she keeps doing the charm for each person who collapses. She told Yuzu that she learned the spell from her grandmother. Yuzu seems curious about whether or not Kurumi’s grandmother is a magician. It’s interesting how Kurumi says that she is just an ordinary lady.
That is when the shapeshifting nurse cat and dog go and find Suzuki’s whereabouts. Of course, the dog had to hide as the nurse confronted the members of the Magic Research Club, who were looking for the next wonder. Of course, the nurse hides something dire as he focuses on saving Minami.
Eventually, more standard program students collapse, and I wonder why. Of course, Kurumi is at her limit as her attempt to perform the charm causes her to become tired and worried about Maki. Eventually, that owl came, and the scientist lady explained what happened. Her assistant collapsed, too, and she doesn’t know the cause, except that something underneath Rettoran might be behind the students collapsing as the seal is imperfect.
Kyo starts to question the magic that Magumi provides. Sure, he says it’s convenient to control magic from a notebook and fill it with many apps, but he still feels useless. No matter how much he trained to use the notebook, he realizes he is not using magic. After all, he has a machine rather than the person doing it. Of course, Suemi approached Kyo to tell him that the Magumi students were to assemble in the library. When they got there, the students got locked out.
As expected, this seems a bit suspicious as Northern uses a machine that takes all the magic to free magic for the modern faction for Project Anima. Yep, he plans to use the Standard Program students as a sacrifice to make his dream come true. Seems sinister, proper?
Thankfully, Suzuki’s frog finally came back to Yuzu and Kurumi. We find out from the scientist lady that the frog is familiar to Suzuki. Thankfully, it appears that somebody rescued Suzuki. The funny thing is that while Yuzu and Kurumi are at the doorway of that building and about to enter, Cappybara tries to attack Kurumi.
Thankfully, Suzuki repelled the Cappybara’s attack by biting Kurumi as she emerged. We know who saved them, although it’s interesting that the purple-haired dog shapeshifting girl refers to Kurumi as her older sister. Still, I wonder if Suzuki, with the help of Yuzu and Kurumi, can stop Northern’s plans. We’ll see next time.

@chikorita157@chikorita157.com @yon When you have the chance to watch Ep 10, there are even more interesting things, especially that bad guys plan he is cooking up.
@chikorita157 @chikorita157@chikorita157.com Well now we are talking. Finally ended up being a useful magician (but why did Yuzu at least not try to also cast it?) and the little teacher is finally back (but I wanted to see how she got out).
Feels like the setup for the end.
I’ll be sad if we don’t get more seasons.
It’s good that Kurumi is finally pull off some spells and such, but yes, I do wonder why Kurumi is the only one while Yuzu can help too, but I guess she doesn’t know the spell.
@chikorita157 Still say that Yuzu was the stand out. Nice to see them be friends. The rich kid is a jerk is a boring trope.
