From last time, Kanata finds out that Mari quit the cheer team. It concerns that negative comment, but why did she make it? That is why she made the comment.
Kanata feels down after finding out the reason Mari has quit. After all, Kanata seems to be viewed highly of Mari. Kanata returns late, revealing that she was at the library to meet Mari. She admits that Mari made that comment, which obviously gets Anna angry. Kanata blames herself for messing up the stunt during the competition and injuring Mari. She comes to the conclusion that she doesn’t know her that much.
While Anna walks home with Nodoka, she notices that the comment is gone. Still, Anna is angry as Kanata talks to Megumi about Mari. She is kind and takes care of the underclassmen. Of course, Megumi noticed this during her time at the hot springs when she gave her a towel. Megumi suggests that Kanata talk with her.
Of course, Kanata tries to talk with her, but she gets caught by Hana. Eventually, she spoke with Kanata and some other girl. Kanata talks to Mari in the library but doesn’t know much about her. Obviously, they are trying to find out why Mari quit. They reveal that Mari worked hard to get on the cheer team from the start while others transferred in.
Meanwhile, we finally find out what led to Mari making that comment. Remember that accident during the competition involving Mari and Kanata. Mari had a bone injury, but she eventually healed. However, she still can’t do any stunts. She eventually resigned herself to the B-team while trying to work hard to get her abilities back with gymnastic lessons. However, they still don’t work.
When she watched the PoMPoMs videos, she became frustrated that Kanata could do certain stunts even though she couldn’t fly. This frustration within her eventually led to that mean comment, which ultimately went out of control with many troll comments. She hears her members feeling bad for Kanata as Mari realizes she has hurt Kanata.
In short, she deleted the comment and eventually resigning the cheer team for going against the policy of posting on social media and hurting Kanata. She is in a worse position as she wishes to turn back time until she runs into Megumi. While Mari wants Kanata to forget about her forever, Megumi wants Mari to make up with her as she talks to her. That is while Hana, with her friend, is trying to figure out why Mari quit Izawa. However, she is unwilling to reveal the reason, saying there is no need to.
Meanwhile, Shion and Shizuha meet with Nodoka and Anna, who are waiting. When Megu returns with Mari, they wonder who Mari is as she apologizes for making the comment. Obviously, Anna, who was visibly angry at Mari, almost kicked her in the face as Megu explained everything. Mari wants to set things right because she knows she hurt Kanata by making that comment. With that, Mari wants to join PoMPoMs to help everyone. Anna eventually changes her tune after being visibly angry, although she won’t forgive her.
With Mari on the team, it’s evident that Kanata is improving. Kanata knows how much help Mari is, although she seems to put herself down. We find out Mari did cheer to build strength, but she eventually saw how cool Hana was doing it.
While she wanted to be like that by going on the A team, she couldn’t smile until Kanata joined. Thanks to her, her cheer made her smile and, of course, made her realize that she wasn’t cheering to support people but rather the spot. After all, Mari sees the best smile when Kanata flies, which can explain why she wants to help her so that someday, she can fly again. While Kanata eventually regained the ability to do so, Mari went away, perhaps transferred out, as we find out in the credits.
