You might wonder why Suzuha and Shion act strangely to each other after Suzuha falls from the tree and Shion blushes because of her poor singing. Can they resolve their differences?
At last, we see Suzuha’s side of the story, which gives some insights into why Shion ran away the previous time after seeing her fall from the tree. Suzuha and Shion are both class representatives. Shion is trying to greet Suzuha, but she has trouble getting to her, or more like Shion is. Shion seems quiet and introverted inside her. She has difficulty talking to Shion. The funny thing is that other girls, Kanata, especially with that chase and the leap from the first episode.
Eventually, Suzuha joins Anna’s efforts to make a video. Yes, she knows that Shion is part of that group, meaning she can talk to her directly. Yep, she was surprised that Suzuha showed up. Of course, Megumi revealed that Suzuha was part of a cheer group, Platinum Rabbits. It can explain why she could do all those moves. Sadly, she couldn’t apologize to Shion directly but tried to the next day. It’s funny how Shion and Suzuha are both nervous about that moment but unable to do it.
As for the elephant in the room, how did the tryouts turn out? Hana made the A team, but she seems concerned about Kanata. She couldn’t stop her from trying out, which is what they regret. Kanata revealed she didn’t make it to any team and was late during the pompom-making.
Suzuha seems to do well at making them. While on a famous cheer team, she felt her lack of expression didn’t suit her as she didn’t smile. As a result, Suzuha looks mean, which eventually causes her to become lonely and quit. From this, when Suzuha reveals this to Shion, they finally make up. It’s funny how when Anna spotted her, she was about to fall on the tree but managed to land on Anna’s shoulders.
It’s not until later that Kanata finally reveals why she hid all along. That is after her mother reveals that the cheer teacher and captain messaged her mother. It’s because of the mental condition called the yips, which makes her unable to do certain familiar athletic activities—in this case, jumping in the air.
Eventually, not sure what to do as there is no known treatment besides time, Megumi suggests supporting her. Anna, of course, gives the idea of cheering for Kanata instead. So they decide to make a video to cheer her on. Of course, Kanata wants to help, but eventually, they allow her to do so. When Kanata tried to do a stunt, she felt she couldn’t. But after remembering that moment that got her into cheer, she managed to pull it off. Yep, it’s probably thanks to her friends believing in her.
Shion and Suzuha were made for each other. The ninja’s inner shyness and the fairy princess inner nervousness. Bless them both and hope they go even further from now on.
Still rooting hard for Kanata. That first step to recovery was nice. Slow and steady.
Yep, I find their interactions quite interesting along with their thoughts while they have difficulty conveying their feelings for each other. They will get there, eventually.
I guess it’s not a good idea for Kanata to rush things, but she will get over it with time.
