From last time, Shiho offered to take Himari on a trip to share how Laureley started. Of course, we learn quite a bit about what went down with Kyou afterward and the real reason why Shiho quit. It probably has something to do with Yori?
We find out that Hajime is indeed Kyou’s sister and Momoka was sparingly Kyou’s girlfriend. Yep, Momoka eventually mentions this later on. Still, it’s obvious, given that she is always with Kyou, as seen in the interview in a flashback. Momoka and Hajime, Kyou’s older sister, seem to hang out with Kyou and attend her recitals.
Sadly, Shiho’s rival, Kyou, whom she felt that she could never reach, Kyou has passed away in an accident. When we saw the grave, we knew that she sadly passed away. Momoka was weeping, which is obvious why. After the funeral, Hajime talked to Shiho about what her little sister had thought about her.
Despite Shiho and Kyou having a big breakup, as Shiho feels that Kyou took her top spot away and she can never overtake her, Kyou still looks up to her. Despite Shiho being upset at her, Kyou still thinks how wonderful of a violinist Shiho was, so when she heard Kyou quitting a band, she was upset. After all, when Hajime told Kyou that Shiho had joined a band, she was delighted and wanted to see a concert someday because Shiho didn’t give up music. Sadly, Kyou never got the chance to for obvious reasons. At least in Shiho’s mind, the weight of Kyou being her rival is off her shoulders.
After hearing this, Shiho joined another band, SSGirls and visited Kyou’s grave, telling her how things were going. She did it for a year until Shiho decided to quit another band.
When she is at Kyou’s grave saying it didn’t work, Momoka and Hajime run into Shiho at the grave. They find out Shiho is leaving flowers and visiting the grave, and Momoka is emotional as she thanks Shiho. That is when Hajime revealed that Momoka was Kyou’s girlfriend, as she had never introduced herself to her.
Thanks to Kyou, she is also a big fan of Shiho as she talked about how much Kyou spoke about her. When Momoka finds out that Shiho has quit the band and is giving up on music, she is sad and tries to convince Shiho not to quit. After all, without Shiho playing music, something that Kyou loved would disappear forever. After all, Momoka said Kyou was jealous of Shiho’s violin playing.
While Kyou played what the judges liked, she always felt that Shiho’s violin playing was free and emotional, like she was singing. Yep, it’s unsurprising that she feels this way, given that she is stuck if she can’t play music like her. With that, Shiho eventually decides to form a band and wants Momoka and Hajime to join in to see the world that Kyou admires and sing their own words about it.
With that, Himari finally knows how Shiho formed Laureley, but it doesn’t tell why she quit Aki’s band. When she is with Yori on a date after a movie, Himari is out of it. Himari basically spilled the beans about yesterday as to why Shiho quit SSGirls. It’s not about going pro, but what can it be. It doesn’t explain why Shiho now has cold blood towards Aki or why she hates Yori.
Himari finally figured it out when she asked Shiho why she hated Yori. We finally find out when Shiho mentions love at first sight, as she had a crush on Aki. Yep, it’s so obvious. Why else would she be so upset when she discovered that Himari was going out with Yori. When Himari stated that Shiho had a crush on Aki, which is why she quit the band, and Aki had a crush on Yori, Shiho got really angry and stormed out of the room. Hajime and Momoka came in and wondered what happened.
So what led to Shiho developing a crush on Aki before their big falling out with each other. We find out that when the other bands dumped Shiho, Aki was willing to take her in. She developed a strong bond with Aki and her band members to the point she was having fun. In a way, Shiho also started to develop romantic feelings for Aki. She even wrote a love letter confessing her feelings.
Before she could give a love letter to her, she saw Aki and Yori talking to each other. When Yori left, Shiho started to come in. She saw Aki kissing it with her hand up her mouth, which shocked Shiho. She felt she couldn’t stand a chance against Yori as she thought Aki and Yori were more than just friends.
The funny thing is Shiho is still upset at Aki despite Aki losing against Himari to win Yori’s heart. Shiho should be happy that Himari is in a relationship with Yori as she still has a chance to make up with Aki and confess her feelings for her.
Her lack of perseverance is apparent not just with music but also with her feelings for Aki. The question is, when will she realize that she is running away. I feel that this will eventually lead to her living a miserable life with regrets, especially after Kyou’s death, which is sad in its own right. On the other hand, I can’t blame her as she suffered many setbacks. Still, I hope Shiho will somehow be more honest about her feelings. After all, Himari wants to see Aki and Shiho make up and get back together.
With the known production issues happening right now, nobody knows when the two remaining episodes will air. That said, at least the moments between Himari and Yori are the best and cutest moments beneath all the drama.
