Now that Pontaro is getting away with Yoka, which Shizuru and her friends need to put an end to, 7G, can they pull it off? Can they bring Yoka back to normal
Despite Nadeshiko and Mito pressing the 7G button, it’s not enough to stop it. From the beginning, they need Yoka to press the button. Of course, they head back to the train as they need to devise a plan to reach Yoka and have her press the button. Mito has the zombies bring the button to the train while tagging along, helping the girls reach Ponaro.
As expected, Pontaro isn’t an intelligent villain, as he manages to screw up his getaway plan. Shizuru and her friends managed to pull through despite Ponatro’s turrets shooting at the train. It couldn’t stop entirely as Mito’s zombies helped bring the train back upright.
The funny thing is that Ponatro controls the turrets with Wii Nuchucks while wearing a Virtual Boy. That is not a good combination, as he loses control of it and eventually destroys the turrets he uses. Even his henchmen, Chaos and Boss get quickly taken down by the girls.
That is until Pontarou threatens to shoot Akira if they try to attack her. That is until the human “pocchi” that serves as Yoka’s bodyguard comes and throws Pontaro off. That is before the girls discover that Ikebukuro is the source of 7G, and 7G is taking a toll on Yoka. We know that Yoka created the world of 7G. To stop it, she needs to press the button.
Before Shizuru and her friends can stop 7G, Shizuru must resolve her differences with Yoka. Of course, Nadeshiko brought that plant along with Akira, and Reimi brought their favorite book. As expected, Shizuru apologizes to Yoka for hurting her and saying her dream is impossible.
Of course, given her emotions, Yoka’s powers got out of control as she remembered what Shizuru said. Yoka claims Shizuru came to drag her back to Agano. Shizuru, of course, did not intend to come to drag her back. Shizuru denies this as she wants to apologize to her and want to support her dreams.
Her friends back her up, explaining that their adventure is not out of Vanity as they see what it’s like outside Agano and have fun. They want to change and bring about change. Yoka gets angry, telling her not to decide how she feels. It took Pocchi to calm her down,
When Nadeshiko’s sweet myrtle plant started blooming and projecting their memories together, it finally gave Yoka the needed answer. She realizes life now is not fun compared to back then. Despite the ups and downs, they make life fun, and bringing the world back to normal is the only way she can turn it back. Besides remembering that promise star, Shizuru and her friends convince Yoka that being together is better than being alone.
In the end, Yoka did eventually press the 7G button. Of course, Pontaro tries to stop her by snatching her, but the swan boat guy lands on him, and he finishes him off as the girls save her.
After pressing the button, the world is back to normal, or the new normal. Some things have changed, such as the chickens on the streets and the animals in the village, which are now half-human, half-animal. Also, Pontaro is now custard, which he deserves to be. Also, Makoto is now a giant instead of a tiny one. However, some things didn’t change, such as that train mode still inflicts Zenjiro. It shows that some things can’t go back since it has been two years. Yep, the girls will have a fun time back, as it’s not the same reality anymore.
Final Thoughts
Shuumatsu Train Doko e Iku is an interesting show. Sure, there are a lot of weird moments, given how much the mystery lies in the world ravaged by 7G, but there are plenty of scary, suspenseful, and funny moments. Nobody knows what lies ahead, which adds to the suspense.
It helps with most of the characters, especially the main cast, who have enjoyable personalities, especially Shizuru. She sounds familiar to that certain energetic blonde-hair bob-cut girl who wields a gun.
Of course, Shizuru had her moments when she decided to temporarily ditch her friends as she felt she should just go to Ikebukuro alone. Yes, that moment when she ditches her friends, which makes them worried, gave me mixed feelings. Despite not apologizing afterward, it’s good that she finally made up with Yoka after realizing her mistakes and has full support for Yoka to achieve her dreams. Aside from that, it has been a fun and strange wide. I just hope that someone like Space Karen doesn’t get any ideas and tries to invent 7G brain-wave technology like this.
