Now that Chiaki is staying over, how did her solo camping trip go before the rest of the group joined in for the Hanami camping trip?
Now that Aoi had gone home after her dad picked her up, it was time for Aki to experience her first night camping alone. She had her dinner consisting of rice. With Nadeshiko’s suggestion of drinking cocoa while the sun rises, Aki sleeps early. However, she needs to use the bathroom and considering there is no light at the campsite, she is afraid of bears attacking her while she goes to the bathroom.
Of course, she needed to go, so she ran to the bathroom. The funny thing is that the bear got to her when she woke up. It was just a dream, and only cats were outside her tent. She went to the bathroom before heading back to the tent. She receives a text going to a live feed of Rin with her smartphone on, which gives Aki a good scare. Of course, Aki and Rin talked about what they did on their first day of the camping trip. Rin also shared a link to the live stream of a lit-up oi. With that, Rin heads home afterward.
The next day, Rin, along with Nadeshiko, Aoi, Ena, Akari, and Minami, finally shows up at the campsite. Akari looks forward to the yakinuku as the girls get fired up for the Hanami camping. Of course, Minami takes out the pan as they will do the Jingisukan yakiniku.
Before that happened, Minami broke out the frog meat, which got censored for some reason, although they showed it along with the reptile meat in the shop. Minami bought it since it taste like chicken. After making the karaage using frog meat, it tastes like chicken, but the girls can’t get the thought of frog out of their minds.
Of course, the Jingisukan yakiniuku comes first, and they do it with lamb. While everyone says it’s delicious, except for Aoi and Akari. Yep, Aki called her grandmother about the Jingisukan as it taste different as it taste the same. That is when her grandmother mentions that it was pork all along. It’s funny to see Aoi react, surprised after discovering the truth.
With that, the girls enjoyed the pink flowers as they looked around and even shared pictures. They even had a group photo. Before they know it, it’s nighttime. Akari went into the tent. The girls eventually break out the lantern and put it under the tree after Nadeshiko came up with the idea. It looks gorgeous at night.
They, of course, took a group picture lying down under the sakura tree in the blanket and showed the sakura pictures they took. Nadeshiko, of course, shows off her time-lapse of the sakura budding and eventually blooming. Chiaki, Aoi, and Nadeshiko hope the Outdoor Activities Club gets enough members to become a full-fledged club. The downside is that they will miss the small club room.
Of course, Nadeshiko plans to continue taking pictures. They also turn off the lanterns and see the pink flowers through the moonlight. Also, there are some nice pictures of Nadeshiko with Rin. In the morning, Nadeshiko woke up, and Rin was already awake and drinking hot cocoa. They, of course, are already speculating what trips to take next. After the credits, we see a glimpse of the start of the new semester. As expected, that moment when Nadeshiko laughed after she saw a petal on Rin’s hair was cute.
Final Impressions
While the third season had a slow start and took some time to return to the usual feeling of Yuru Camp, it was another great season. Sure, the new animation took some time to get used to, but eventually, when the girls go back to camping, it’s pretty much the same goodness as the last two installments.
Sure, Aki and Aoi got slightly less screen time, as Nadeshiko, Rin, and Ayano got the most focus on their camping trip. At least the camping trips, along with the one Aki, Ena, and Aoi took, are fun and exciting. Of course, seeing the girls look at the pink flowers is excellent, as you know what I did. That said, it will be a while until a 4th season comes, hopefully, and it will be one of the Kirara adaptations besides Hidamari Sketch to get one. In the meantime, Mono is getting an adaptation, and more of it takes place in the same universe as Yuru Camp.
