From last time, Yumiko had a terrible recording session with many retakes. When it looks like Chika is about to help Yumiko out, knowing that she had a tough session, Yumiko acts tough. As a result, she cries on the bridge as if she can’t do it, but will she really give up?
From last time, Yumiko was crying on the bridge. Apparently, she had the worst recording session with a lot of retakes. It’s understandable since she is surrounded by veteran seiyuus, which puts pressure on her. Still, Yumiko cries as if she wants to give up but can’t. That will be letting down Chika, of course.
In the end, she met with Kagasaki and explained what happened. Apparently, she couldn’t see Yumiko during the recording session. While Yumiko acted the lines to get feedback from her, she couldn’t get an answer as it was her interpretation, not the sound director’s. Yumiko mentions that the sound director wants her to elevate her acting and that she did a lot of practicing.
Yep, Kagasaki thinks Yumiko is trying too hard as Yumiko is trying to act like Shirayuri. She suggests summoning the character within her. Knowing that Yumiko will practice like crazy, Kagasaki prohibits her from practicing. She knows Yumiko has tunnel vision and will keep doing the same thing even if it doesn’t work. Kagasaki suggests that Yumiko have some fun and do her work right by getting the proper training.
Obviously, Wakana knows that Yumiko is spacing out before asking if she is free to have fun. When Yumiko thought about pacing, she remembered what Kagasaki said. Wakana invited the whole class to a karaoke party, and Yumiko had to invite Chika.
Of course, we know that Chika is there not having fun while Yumiko has trouble with what song to sing. The funny thing is that Yumiko decides to sing one of Yuhi’s songs, which pushes Chika to sing one of Yasumi’s songs. Ultimately, they did a duet of the song they sang as Yasumi and Yuhi, respectively.
After the party, Chika talked with Yasumi. She really wanted to help Yumiko out as she had a troublesome recording session and had her talk to her father for advice. As expected, Yumiko revealed that she already talked to Chika’s father, which upset her as she thought of asking her in the first place. She also gives Yumiko something, which is a Blu-ray bundle of Kamishiro anime for reference, of course. In return, Yumiko treated her to dinner. Sadly, Chika couldn’t finish all the cream to get to the pancakes. Maybe next time. As expected, Yumiko binge-watched all the Blu-rays, of course.
As for the next recording session, Kagasaki was there. Yumiko and Chika were in the room before everyone else came in. Yep, Yumiko said she doesn’t like Chika (which is a lie), and it annoys her when she lets her down.
With that, she refuses to let her down this time. This is not surprising as she did a better job instead of acting like Shirayuri but being like her. It seems it’s paid off, as the sound director praised Yumiko for her improved performance. With that, Yumiko told the sound director she wanted to retake everything in the 12th episode, and they agreed, along with the other seiyuus. It’s nice that they are more supportive now that Yumiko has overcome the difficulties of acting with the veteran seiyuus. Hopefully, she will improve more from here and hopefully reach Chika’s level someday. That said, we will get more of Mekurun next time.

I hoped Chika would get to be the heroine and save Yumiko for once. She kinda did. Glad she got to achieve her goal.
Chika’s at her best off work and alone with Yumiko. Yumiko on her part is doing her best but is still dense.
Wakana is love.
Funny how Yumiko almost deny Chika the chance to help her, but at least she has other ways, and it worked. But I agree, Chika and Yumiko are at their best when they are together.
(Wakana is good)
