Now that Chika and Yumiko have passed Chika’s mother’s bet, they can continue their voice acting careers. However, Yumiko auditioned for a role she hadn’t expected after trying for a role recently. What might it be?
Last time, with the help of their fans, Yumiko and Chika managed to make it to the finish line. As expected, the antis that were stalking them got exposed by the actual fans. Eventually, everyone forgets about the scandal as Yumiko and Chika return to their old personas. Not only that, Chika moved to a new home, so nobody can find her. Things are normal as Chika and Yumiko focus on their voice-acting jobs.
With that, Chika and Yumiko visit Mirei’s apartment while wearing their gym tracksuits. The funny thing is that she really lives right close to work. It’s not too surprising since she is a workaholic. Not only that, but Yumiko also has her key to Mirei’s apartment for a good reason. Yep, she was sleeping from overwork, and there was no way she would respond. When they come to the apartment, they see it as a mess with clothes and trash thrown everywhere as Mirei sleeps in her bed. Yep, she has no time to do chores around the house.
Thankfully, Yumiko and Chika helped clean up the place, and Yumiko eventually cooked lunch. Eventually, Mirei woke up and noticed that her room was clean and that someone was cooking a delicious lunch that smelled delicious. It seems as if she is in heaven. As expected, they enjoyed Yumiko’s cooking and came over to show Mirei appreciation. That is when Chika moved to another school in the same district.
Now, since the focus of the last few episodes was on Chika. Now it’s time for Yumiko to get some development as she tries out for an anime production. When it was her turn, she was told to say the lines for the antagonist character for the show she auditioned for. Yumiko never tried out. While she didn’t get any roles, it makes you wonder why she was chosen for these antagonist roles. Is it because she is a Gyaru girl?
Eventually, Kagasaki called her in as Yumiko had another audition offer to do, which would happen tomorrow. Yumiko is asked to do an audition for an antagonist, Shirayuri Mei, who is the rival of the main character, Sakuraba Hatsune. Believe it or not, Yumiko was surprised she was offered this, but it obviously had to do with the last audition. The sound director tested Yumiko with lines to see if she was the person he needed to fill a hard-to-fill role. Also, Chika’s father is listening to her daughter’s radio program.
The funny thing is that Chika is voicing the main character of this show, meaning that Yumiko is butting into what she likes. After all, Chika has been acting weirdly since the recording of the show Yumiko. Yumiko is obviously talking to Wakana about how she constantly fights with Chika and pisses her off all the time. Wakana obviously suggests apologizing to her.
As expected, Yumiko finds Chika in the empty classroom eating lunch and looking at a script. Yumiko decides to have lunch with her and asks why Chika is angry. While she says she is restless, Yumiko isn’t buying it. Still, it has to do with Yumiko passing the audition for the show in which Chika has a role. I guess Chika isn’t happy that Yumiko didn’t tell her, as she doesn’t know why Yumiko is smiling. Yumiko remembered what Chika had said and didn’t want to lose against her. However, as Yumiko finds out, it’s not easy.
As expected, Yumiko struggled to record the 12th episode, where Shirayuri makes her first appearance. It is because she is recording lines with a bunch of veteran voice actresses, some of whom she knows from the installments of Pritia, that caused her to become nervous. Or is it that Yumiko is not experienced enough, as she doesn’t have many big roles. However, Yumiko faced a lot of retakes as she didn’t have enough experience. Some of the Seiyuus she worked with are getting frustrated by her spacing out.
I must admit, I have seen what Yumiko experienced in another anime. That is right, the other anime, Clue, has Maika struggling since she is a newbie voicing a main character. In this case, Yumiko is struggling despite going in and being self-confident that she can surpass Chika.
However, Yumiko showed a lot of vulnerabilities that frustrated her, such as not being good enough compared to Chika. She obviously has a complex that hurts her self-esteem. When Chika knows how rough Yumiko is, Yumiko really doesn’t want Chika to console her, as it shows that she can’t ever surpass Chika. When Yumiko tries to act tough, Chika gets upset. I feel she wanted to help Yumiko as Yumiko did when Chika was dealing with the whole internet rumor thing.
It’s evident that Chika wants to help Yumiko, but she won’t let her, so she gets upset. Also, she is unhappy that Yumiko puts herself down, which she doesn’t like as Chika sees something in her that she envies, her personality. Also, Yumiko hiding her feelings can’t be good as she lets it out at a bridge while it’s raining. It shows Yumiko’s frustrations, as not only did she not give her best performance, but she also pushed Chika away. The question is, is it too late for Chika to help Yumiko or for Yumiko to realize the mistakes she made. We’ll find out next time.

The Many Sides of Voice Actor Radio Episode 8: Radio Storm – The Yuri Empire
By now we know that Chika’s gloomy aura and catchphrase have different meanings, usually favoring Yumiko. Her love is as clear as day except to our wonderfully dense gyaru.
Speaking of Yumiko she sure had it rough. Felt really bad for her. Hopefully she’ll be able to recover with Chika’s help. Yumiko has saved her several times already so it’s only fair for Chika to be the heroine this time.
Not very surprising at the vey least, but seeing Yumiko with that expression makes it obvious that she has feelings for Chika. But we know what she says about hating x part of Yumiko is probably the opposite.
Yes, Yumiko has it rough, but not surprising since she is under a lot of pressure, but hopefully she will get help. Chika’s time to return the favor.
