Now that Yumiko’s mother agreed to Chika’s mother’s bargain. Chika and Yumiko have to go on hiatus if the fans talk to them. Of course, we learn a secret that Mekurun is hiding about why she acts so mean to Chika and Yumiko.
From last time, Yumiko and Chika were hanging out buying sweets when they ran into Mekurun crossing the street. Yep, she is not happy seeing them. As always, Mekurun says she is going to an important recording for a role in a mobile game while putting them down. It makes you wonder if she is real and if the girls can ever get to her. Perhaps more on that later.
When Yumiko got to the front of Chika’s apartment, Chika said that she was afraid. What if she and Yumiko don’t prevail and must go on hiatus for over a year? Will she have any friends left? In short, she fears losing her vision of the future because of her mother. Yumiko gets it despite being less popular. Thankfully, Chika feels better, although Yumiko is not giving up, as they still need to make that video and all the work in front of us.
With that, the meet and greet release event with Otome will be on the full front. Thankfully, with Otome being around, they shave confidence that fans aren’t going to act up. Of course, a familiar and only girl is wearing a mask and sunglasses online to meet them. It’s obvious who she is as she gushes over Otome, Chika, and Yumiko while hesitating. Obviously, she had some disdain towards Yumiko for some reason. Yumiko figured out who she was. Yep, it’s Mekurun, of course, as she blew her cover by saying something sad about Yumiko.
Thankfully, Mekuru agreed to talk to Yumiko and Chika in private. Yep, she is hiding that she is secretly an Oshi for Chika and Yumiko. She tries to hide the fact by acting meanly towards them to separate public and private life. Still a bit extreme, but it explains mainly everything.
Even so, it does give Chika and Yumiko a reason why she was really upset. She felt betrayed by Chika and Yumiko abandoning their old personas abruptly. It shows that some fans like Mekurun feel upset over Chika’s and Yumiko’s abrupt change to their authentic selves and that their old personas that make Yuhi and Yasumi great are gone forever. This can explain why some fans are outraged and feel betrayed by their abrupt change, even though it’s done because their identities got exposed.
With that, Chika and Yumiko finally realize their mistake and decide to make a video for the old fans along with the bargain. With that, they walked from the school to the station while Chika’s mother was looking. Of course, everyone seems to be there to watch Chika and Yumiko walk to the station from the sidelines.
Two disgruntled fans are upset over them for being fake. Thankfully, people try to push them away in those two instances and convince them not to do it. Of course, one more is standing in the way until Mekurun comes to help Yumiko and Chika deal with the disgruntled fan blocking the entrance to the train station. Funny how she says that she hates Chika’s and Yumiko’s guts but loves them too and wants them to continue voice acting. As expected, Mekurun is a tsundere, but it was apparent before.
Either way, you can see why Yumiko’s mother was confident that her daughter would prevail. With Chika and Yumiko in it together, they managed to pull through to the end. Thus, they can continue their voice acting career as they cry. Also, it appears that Chika and Yumiko decided to return to their old personalities and voices for Yuhi and Yumiko. I guess everyone should be happy now, and hopefully, it will make Mekurun less of a Tsundere towards them.
I get where Mekuru’s coming from but she still sucks. Hopefully this will be a sign of her becoming a better character but I won’t hold my breath.
YumiChika development continues to please me.
That fan gauntlet was intense. Glad to see the dickweeds were stopped by true fans. Hopefully Chika’s mom got the message.
Hopefully so, but yes her personality isn’t that great, but hopefully this will be a sign that she will eventually defrost of course.
But yes, the Antis are the worst. Nice to see the true fans defend Yumiko and Chika from the haters.
