Now that Chika and Yumiko are , it’s finally underway. However, there is someone who is against the plan, and it becomes obvious who it is.
Finally, Chika and Yumiko’s guest appearance on Mekurun’s show is done. Surprisingly, Mirei is also the writer for this show, so she knows about Mekurun. Apparently, Mekurun gets along with other Seiyuus, except for Yumiko and Chika.
Apparently, she has a vendetta against Chika and Yumiko as they are seen as “not taking it seriously” despite being her juniors. Even when Yumiko tries to invite her for dinner to get to know her better, she turns them down. In her mind, why bother with them? She seems to see Yumiko and Chika as failures of an idol seiyuu and is forced into this to cover it up. My guess is nothing will change to improve Mekurun’s relationship, at least for now.
After doing voice actor work, Yumiko thinks things are smooth sailing as other Seiyuus, maybe besides Mekurun being supportive and kind. However, Yumiko overhears something after recording the final episode: the agency is using Sakuranamiki too blatantly. Chika notices something is wrong with Yumiko. At the same time, Yumiko still lacks confidence in her skills, and she wonders why the scandal robbed Chika of her opportunities.
Eventually, Otome notices that Yumiko is out of it and seems worried about Otome getting caught up with it. Otome basically tells her not to worry about it. She can talk to her like her older sister if something bothers Yumiko. After all, she can rely on a lot of support, and keeping it bottled in will be bad for her as she can get other people worried.
After the radio program, Yumiko asks if they ask Mirei if it’s okay for it to stay the same. Of course, Yumiko is worried about something, and of course, Chika knows. Mirei wonders why Chika and Yumiko would be interested in those comments since it’s about fans complaining that it’s fake, they liked what the show way before, or they are pretending not to like each other. In other words, Mirei is saying not to listen to the haters. Still, the concern is getting used to being their real selves instead of a character. Mirei sees this problem as one living with it or giving up on that character entirely.
After leaving the recording studio, Chika receives a text that her mother is at her agency. I have a bad feeling about this since she never supports her daughter’s choice of being a Seiyuu. Of course, Chika brought her father in to resolve the dispute. What we find out is shocking as those rabid antis found where Chika lives. This makes you wonder where the authorities are to stop this?
Since Chika’s mother doesn’t like her daughter working as a Seiyuu, as seen with Yumiko talking to her a few episodes ago, she wants her to quit. It’s a shame since Chika has a leading role and no convincing her father can make the shots.
Yumiko tries to convince Chika’s mother, but otherwise, she won’t budge with her decision. Even waiting until after Chika graduates from high school to resume her activities will be too late for her. However, if Yumiko wagers on her Seiyuu career and goes along with her “joke” that if those fans talk to her, her voice career ends, maybe she will reconsider. Still, seems harsh, but they went along with it as Chika and Yumiko stayed at Yumiko’s place for the night. Yes, they went in the bath. They are on the same page and can’t go on hiatus before talking about Mekurun and her physique, including her chest size. Yumiko, of course, conceded and allowed Chika to touch her breasts. She seems enthusiastic.
Eventually, Yumiko couldn’t sleep over the thought of possibly losing the bet and having to put her career on hiatus. She didn’t even get to get a role in that magical girl she loves the most. After talking to her, Yumiko’s mother thinks it is best to speak with Chika’s mother just to propose the same bet for her daughter. Yep, it’s a way for Chika to not be left alone if they fail the bet. It seems risky, but Yumiko’s mother is confident that Yumiko and Chika can pull through.
Of course, Yumiko’s mother asks if Chika’s mother is familiar with Witchy Pritia. Children love this show, and many voice actresses want to get a role in it. Still, it’s tough, given the competition. Still, Yumiko’s mother has complete confidence in her daughter and tells Chika’s mother not to underestimate her. Well, shots are fired between the differing opinions of Chika’s and Yumiko’s mother. I wonder if Yumiko and Chika can pull it off. We’ll find out soon enough.
Glad the Mekuru segment was brief as there were more important matters to attend to.
Chika’s Mom’s challenge is a tough one. Hopefully our heroines prevail. She’s an annoying mom but that shows how much she cares for Chika despite having issues to work on. Meanwhile Yumiko’s mom showed her street smarts. Very shrewd motivation for Yumiko.
Chika is a cultured genius who knows how to get what she wants from Yumiko by now. Bless her.
Mekuru is just one of those mean girls, but I do wonder if Chika and Yumiko can ever get her to defrost.
It’s not too surprising to see Chika react this way, since she is always against her daughter’s decision. Sure, it will be tough, but hopefully they will prevail. Good that Yumiko’s mother has faith in them.
Yep, not too surprising, but nice to see.
