Now that Rin and Ayano are getting close to the campsite, Nadeshiko makes the final preparations before they arrive.
After Nadeshiko got the firewood, she set up the campfire. Rin entrusted her with the camp equipment as Nadeshiko painstakingly cut all the wood with the billhook. Surprisingly, she managed to cut all the wood without hurting herself. Also, seeing her lit a fire using a pinecone was nice.
As she waited, she demonstrated how to cook Amazake cookies easily. Yep, she enjoyed them as she stayed awhile. Eventually, Rin and Ayano arrive, and of course, Ayano collapses in front of Nadeshiko after she gets off her bike. She seems not used to riding on a motorbike for a long time. She will get used to it in due time. Also, it’s nice to see a flashback of Ayano calming down a crying Nadeshiko.
Nadeshiko promises Ayano that she will come over during winter break. Ayano comes over to Nadeshiko’s place when Nadeshiko moves away from her old hometown. As expected, it was a cute and heartwarming flashback. Also, we find out that Ayano bought used camping equipment, which was all good and surprisingly cheap. Also, Nadeshiko and Rin easily set up the tent since it’s single-wall.
Aside from that, they finally cook their meal. Nadeshiko cooked the steaks while boiling them in their packing. Also, she spilled the juice from the beef into a jar and used it as a candle. After boiling it, they also roast the hamburg stake on the fire. Of course, it gives the smell of beef. I also like how Nadeshiko arranges the dishes to show Ayano’s and Rin’s journey perfectly.
I also liked how Nadeshiko put in the spicy hot peppers to describe their experience with Lake Hatanagi Ootsuribashi. Of course, Rin practiced cooking the stew, but she prepped it before the trip while taking out the juice from the meat. It creates less mess. As always, the eating reactions are excellent. Nadeshiko showed Ayano the pictures of her journey on the train before going to bed. While Nadeshiko asks if Ayano will come to visit on the way back, she can’t but will someday. I wonder when?
After the credits, Ayano woke up and saw Nadeshiko was awake. Nadeshiko has made it as she likes having a hot drink and watching the sunrise. Of course, they took a picture of Rin sleeping. From the looks of it, it will focus on the loose ends of the trip and, of course, Rin, Nadeshiko, and her friends being at school again.
