Akira saves Shizuru and her friends from being consumed by mushrooms, they finally leave Higashi-Agano. However, Akira is hiding something embarrassing that is on her butt. Of course, others catch on, and I have a hunch about what it might be.
We may focus on the flashbacks before speculating what Akira might be hiding. There are two in this episode. They show Yoka the garden, showing the flowers and plants there. She seems very amazed by a specific flower. Of course, they looked at a river, and Yoka tried to look at her reflection. Shizuru had to stop her before she accidentally fell over the bridge.
Of course, during the evening, while Shizuru looks at the stars with Yoka, Yoka wonders why Shizuru is amazing. Well, Shizuru wonders if she can do anything. Yoka seems amazed by Shizuru, although she feels that she can’t do anything. Shizuru suggests cheering her on, and she will do so in return before finding the star named Sirius. They made it their name. I wonder what that is about.
In a second flashback, Remi wants to know how she can pass the Japanese text tomorrow. Akira tells her to tear parts she wants to memorize, put them between crackers, and eat them. That is not how you memorize facts, but I can wonder how well or poorly she did on the test. Still, it’s pretty funny, though Akira is probably being sarcastic. Of course, the girls suggest taking turns driving the train so as not to let Shizuru wear herself out. I find it cute how Akira mentioned that train-driving game. It’s bound that they will make that reference to the train operating game.
That said, the girls passed through a few stops. Some are outright scary. The third stop had goat people appearing and eventually running into the train. Thankfully, Shizuru got them out of there. The next stop had a field of plants, which happened to be turnips that became alive and started laughing at the girls. That is downright creepy. The next stop had a lot of golf balls, and it started raining golf balls. Yep, they passed through a golf course, along with a field with stumps looking like deformed people. That is when the secret Akira is hiding along comes to light.
If you recall from last time, what is Akira hiding? Some speculated that it might be a tail. However, some people suggested it was a mushroom as she went to the bathroom in the last episode. It can explain why the spores ended up there.
Given it’s in an embarrassing place, she hides the fact that this can kill her in the end. Still, her friends can’t help but notice, especially when Pocchi is curious about Akira’s butt. She even goes to the bathroom behind a tree. She notices how bad the mushroom has gotten, but of course, she denies that it’s that.
That is until Nadeshiko and Remi held her down and discovered it had grown quite big. However, it was strange since it moved and then exploded. Now Akira started acting opposite her serious self, and Remi felt guilty that she broke her. They ask for a doctor to those statues that receive offerings, and it seems the next stop has it.
While Nadeshiko looks after Akira, Shizuru and Remi go into town and climb the fence. The funny thing is that the scale of the city is smaller than Remi and Shizuru, which makes them seem significant. All of a sudden, the military attacked them with airstrikes, tanks, missiles, and the like until they passed out. The funny thing is that the projectiles don’t harm them, just eventually knock themselves out. They stopped at the small Army-men stop.
Somehow, they get tied to a helicopter’s propeller when they wake up. I wonder how they can get themselves out of this pickle. Maybe Nadeshiko can snap Akira out of what she is going through with some bitter melon? It worked against the mushroom people, and it might be here.

Train to the End of the World Episode 4: The Train Goes on and on – The Yuri Empire
@chikorita157 Just woooosh past a whole bunch of stations there. Could this show end with this season? As much as two seasons would be nicer, having a complete story is so very nice. Makes for a lot better rewatch ability as well.
I’m now also wondering if the show, or rather each station, draws inspiration from other works. I’m kinda clueless about a lot of Japanese folklore, but I know of Swift. Might the tiny town be related perhaps?
And at least they didn’t go for a modest proposal, that would have made for a much much more terrifying show.
I’m intrigued about what is coming next. Really enjoy how fresh the show feels.
Yep, they went by a lot of stations, but of course some of them are bunch of nothing, but it makes you wonder what was actually at those stops to begin with.
It should be interesting to see how they do the rest of the stops.
As expected Reimi and Akira’s bond is a strong one despite what their bickering tells us. Vintage bickering couple. Hopefully their feelings are actually that strong.
Hopefully they find the doctor who can help Akira in Mini City.
Yep, what Utena says about one’s bickering shows that they are close holds true here.
