Now that Komari lets Nelia drink her blood, they are ready to face off against Madheart and his 5000 Daydream Unit. Can they defeat them all?
As expected, Madheart believes he stands a chance when Karen tells him to surrender. As expected, he thinks he could pull it off, but he will learn the hard way as nobody messes with Komari and survives. Either way, even the citizens are turning against his rule.
Meanwhile, we see Melca and Thio televise the horrors at Daydream Paradise as Nelia releases all the prisoners. She also manages to split Gertude’s sword in half and proceeds to punch her. Yep, that is her punishment for betraying Nelia. Still, Nelia ends up after Gertude admits she was abused by her older brother as well, and Nelia is the only one that treated her well. At least Nelia is kind to forgive Gertude, but she isn’t changing her mind about taking on Madheart.
Eventually, Nelia offered Komari to drink her blood. Yep, Vill and Sakuna don’t like that, but to be fair, Komari did drink their blood, so Nelia needs the same treatment. After all, this is the induction for Nelia to join Komari’s ever-growing female harem. While hesitant to do so, she eventually decides to do so to fight alongside Nelia.
After Komari drinks the blood, a blight light emerges from Komari as she grabs a light sword. Yep, it’s nice to see even the citizens cheer Komari on. Also, we get to see Millicent make another appearance right after Mascarail and the priest guy think they are goners. Despite Millicent hating Komari for obvious reasons, she still wants to help Komari out. Funny to see the creep’s reaction when she saw Millicent.
Aside from that, Komari and Nelia end up curb-stomping that creep. Even his Core Implosion couldn’t save him from Komari’s light swords from her version of Unlimited Blade Works (if you get the reference). Sure, Nelia got upset as she didn’t get to finish that creep off. Sure, he went down a dark path to get revenge on the nation that took over Aruka. As they say, silly rabbit, revenge is for losers.
Also, Madheart gets what he deserves. Karen says something like “f around and find out” when messing around with Komari. Of course, Karen is more concerned with world domination through peace than having power concentrated on one figurehead. Case in point, all the nations allied with Madheart turned against him. The funny thing is that this was part of Inverse Moon’s plan, so they have one less country to deal with.
In short, we see a prologue of Nelia taking the lead of the nation she took back. She also reunites with her father, who finally got released. Fast forward one month, during an entertainment war, Komari has a harem ending as Nelia, Sakuna, and Vill fight for Komari’s heart.
Final Thoughts
As expected, Hikikomari Kyuuketsuki no Monmon did surprise me presently. Meanwhile, the whole entertainment war thing went more of the wayside. It’s interesting to see Komari develop from being shut into changing the hearts of the girls she helped, even Vill, who loves Komari the most. Of course, it’s funny to see Vill get jealous while Sakuna and eventually Nelia. Also, seeing Komari drinking blood and showing her ability to fight the bad guys while being badass adorable is fun.
Overall, it’s a fun show that needs a second season despite having flaws. Sure, Vill got the short end of the stick, but obviously, she is in it for the long game.
