It seems that Rae is acting funny as if she is jealous. Manaria has feelings for Claire, and Claire eats it up. Eventually, things reach a fever pitch, and Rae challenges Mania to a duel. It doesn’t end well.
Last time, we learned that Princess Manaria transferred to the academy. Of course, since she is close with Claire, things are about to hit a fever pitch for Rae as Manaria pushes her button. It was plainly obvious how jealous Rae was. It gets worse when Rae is about to do her maid duties when she sees Manaria brushing Claire’s hair. Rae got really jealous when Manaria didn’t mind becoming Claire’s maid.
Sadly, having Claire’s attention taken away by Maria gets even worse as Rae is in full jealousy mode. I find it funny when she says, “No Claire, No Life.” Misha, of course, mentions this as an opportunity for Rae to wean off Claire, but of course, Rae refuses to do that. Rae says, of course, Manaria is trying to provoke her. Eventually, she challenges Manaria after two of Claire’s friends tell Rae she must protect Claire no matter what. Yep, they know that Rae’s feelings for Claire are genuine. Of course, they warn her that Manaria has a reputation among ladies of the night in the Sousse Kingdom.
As expected, Rae runs into Manaria after she finishes her duties for Claire. She was waiting outside and wanted to talk to Rae. Manaria knows that Rae loves Claire but is acting correctly. Rae mentions that she just wants Claire to be happy, which disappoints Manaria as Rae hasn’t reacted to Manaria’s Provocations. Rae is holding back since she feels that making Claire happy means they can become her life partner. It eventually leads to Rae wanting to do a duel with Manaria.
As for the duel itself, while Rae went all out, it’s evident that Manaria is at a disadvantage. While Rae gives it her all, Manaria eventually dodges her attacks. Manaria even evades Rae’s Chain Spell: Cocytus spell, which the main character only gets late in the game. Ultimately, Manaria wants to win this as she uses her ultimate magic weapon, Dominator. This knocks Rae out with blood on her face. Of course, Claire becomes very worried about Rae even after Manaria heals her as she has overstepped her boundaries. Rae knew that things were stacked against her
When Rae wakes up, she realizes she lost. This means she has no right to Claire as this was part of the duel. It was heartbreaking that Rae even quit being Claire’s maid. That is during that challenge for the Amour Ceremony as Rae does all the monster defeating for Claire and Manaria. Claire is cut off guard, but surprisingly, Claire treats Rae nicely as she is in tears, seeing her maid and possibly having a breakup with the person she has developed feelings for.
In the end, Rae’s true self is revealed, too, but she realizes she messed up big time. Perhaps making Claire happy at the experience for her feelings for Claire wasn’t the right move. Still, is it really the end of it? As the title indicates, maybe they can mend things together, and Manaria realizes she made a huge mistake. We’ll see in the grand finale.

I’m in Love With the Villainess Episode 11: The Perfect Dilemma – The Yuri Empire
Rae’s doubts were so strong even Manaria going too far was enough to push Rae to finally be serious and not hide behind jokes and flirts. Our heroine’s fear of rejection is very real and understandable despite it annoying some. It’s easy as a viewer to judge her inaction but again put yourself in her shoes.
Speaking of Manaria I still like her though she could use lessons on toning down her power even if she’s trying to help our girls get together.
Poor Claire. As sad as the “breakup” was it’s necessary for the two to take the much needed step forward and hopefully seal the deal, finally.
Yes, at some point, Rae has to confront her feelings and not run away from them and Manaria, despite how annoying she is to Rae might be the thing to finally get Rae to confront her feelings for Claire once and for all.
But yes, Manaria probably wen too hard on the power although her other powers would have gave the same effect. But yes, it’s easy o feel bad for Claire as she have feelings for Rae, but Rae is the one that cause the brokeup when it’s obvious she loves Claire. Hopefully it’s now over as Rae obviously didn’t give up on Clairee completely.
