Now that Umika got back on her feet, the 2nd term began after Kei encouraged her not to give up. With Umika apologizing to Umika, what kind of reaction will Umika get when she returns to school. Can they reconcile things with Matataki?
After Umika overcame her disappointment with the outcome of the competition, it was cute to see Yuu give Umika a forehead kiss when she entered the classroom. Yes, it has been a while, right? Haruno is happy to see Umika again, and Umika apologizes for sending too many messages.
Apparently, the class president saw the launch, and she was amazed by how high it went. Sure, Umika’s team forgot there are criteria to be met as the competition is not about how high you can launch a rocket. Of course, Haruno uploaded the video, and many people found out. It’s not a complete loss as it beat all the rockets in height length, but they forgot that it wasn’t the point of the competition. Still, that rocket launch impressed everyone who watched Haruno’s video.
Sadly, Matataki hasn’t shown up to school since that day. Obviously, Umika talked to Emihara. Emihara revealed everyone got back safely, but everyone was dead silent. She was amazed by how well Umika managed to recover from the loss. Still, obviously, she was worried about Umika and Matataki. Matataki obviously didn’t show up, and Emihara knew the tournament meant a lot for her and Umika. I have a feeling that it might be hard to bring Matataki back.
Of course, Haruno had a video of Umika’s speech, and she sent it to her. As expected, Umika cried as she watched how bad she was while Honami wondered what was wrong. Umika was obviously watching her terrible speech as Honami wanted to look at it. Still, I feel bad for Umika, given how she felt that day, but hopefully, she is stronger after this experience.
With that, Umika, Yuu, and Haruno try to visit Matataki’s place. Of course, Haruno remembered the time they went there together. Sadly, there is no response, and Haruno wants to give up on Matataki. After all, she believed Matataki would never return to school and tried to go home. Of course, Yuu kissed Haruno’s forehead to see how Haruno felt. We find out what Haruno said.
Remember what Matataki said about Haruno not hating anything or not caring about winning or losing? The memories matter only. She was half-hearted with the rocket competition since she feared having the same thing happen again with Matataki. Sadly, it did, giving her painful memories of the piano competition she participated in during her childhood. She promised a friend to do well in the upcoming competition and become a pianist.
Sadly, only Haruno made it, as she was the only one who attended piano lessons. Haruno is afraid of winning or losing as it only brings painful memories. That is why she doesn’t care about the results, only the memories, and she hopes everyone’s dream can come true without becoming sad. Sadly, here we are with Matataki shutting herself in as they didn’t win the competition. Haruno was afraid Matataki would turn out like that girl. Thus, Matataki refuses to speak with Haruno or come to school. Sadly, it became a self-fulfilling prophecy with all the doubt.
We see a glimpse of this in Haruno’s flashback with her grandfather, saying she doesn’t need this stupid dream as her friend didn’t make it. Her grandfather mentions that it can happen to anyone, and it happened to him, too. He failed in his dream and hid it in the lighthouse. He wonders if his granddaughter will look for it. Still, I wonder what that dream is that he failed at. Still, Haruno doesn’t want to look for it as she hates having dreams broken. Her grandfather suggests supporting other people’s dreams instead of watching her fail.
Umika convinces that it’s not necessarily the end of the world. While they lost, she mentions everyone seemed amazed by the rocket despite not making the cut. Still, Umika understands how painful it is to lose, but they must keep trying no matter what. She finally mentions that she watched her speech and saw how terrible it was, but she thanks Haruno for recording it. After all, Umika wants to enter the competition again next year. After Haruno hears the other praise, she changes her mind. As Yuu said, Haruno should take her time discovering her feelings.
As for Haruno confronting Matataki. Obviously, she wants to give up, but Haruno realizes something as she takes back what she said before about winning or losing, which doesn’t matter, and there is nothing she hates. Haruno calls Matataki an idiot and calls her out on giving up after losing after getting worked up about winning. If Haruno can make it happen, Matataki will be the biggest loser.
After noticing that Matataki threw away the goggles, Haruno puts them on and says that she hates Matataki, who is acting like a big loser. That is when she leaves, saying she won’t lose, and tells Matataki not to lose either. Still, Matataki doubts her abilities, but I wonder if Umika and her friends can convince her to return. We’ll see next time.

Stardust Telepath Episode 10: Find Your Truth – The Yuri Empire
Nice to meet the rest of our heroines’ classmates. The class rep is my favorite.
Haruno’s backstory was easy to understand. Blaming yourself for someone important to you losing their passion hits hard plus she misunderstood grandpa’s message. Thankfully our precious cinnamon bun’s courage along with Yu finding a way through her galactic mental barrier helped Haruno find her way.
Her first confrontation with Matataki was great. Hopefully she will be the one to finally help the tsundere fully defrost, after UmiYu help out of course.
Agreed. But it’s not too surprising to see Haruno like that after her backstory is revealed. Still, it’s good that she managed to find her footing and of course confront Matataki, but yes hopefully she will beat Matataki and bring her back to the team.
