Wait, it’s already my birthday. While today I leave my early 30s as I turn 34, it has been an eventful year. Besides going into the office for a whole year, I did accomplish quite a bit.
First off, I finally learned all the Kanji in WaniKani. It took over a year and 6 months, but we are finally here. Now I am more than prepared for the JLPT N2 when I can get a test spot.
I’m focusing on the remaining vocabulary and improving my listening and reading comprehension to determine if I pass the exam, depending on my reading and listening comprehension skills. Either way, I will be reading and listening a lot to improve. Even if I don’t pass, it will give me an idea of where my Japanese skills are.
As you know, Elon took over Twitter and ran it into the ground. There is no secret that I created my own Mastodon server, Sakurajima, for creators who make stuff around Japanese media (including bloggers) and fans of Japanese media. It has grown quite a bit since I started.
While I wish that more of the blogosphere would join us at Mastodon. The situation at X will not get any better. Also, Japanese artists are moving to the Fediverse through software called Misskey. Of course, you can still follow them at Sakurajima and meet other bloggers. If interested, it’s at sakurajima.moe (note: I do not recommend Mastodon Social because it’s too big and has moderation issues. Small/medium servers are better in user experience).
As for my blog, the summer season is unusually quiet since there aren’t many shows I am interested in. That is after winter and spring came in with a good start. Hopefully, we will rebound in the fall when there are many exciting shows airing. Like I said last time, age is just a number. The mindset matters the most as long you live a healthy lifestyle and remain optimistic. Feel free to say Happy Birthday to me in the comments.
Happy birthday! I hope you have an enjoyable day off.
Thanks!
Happy birthday and thanks for your work!
Here’s to many more years of machismo on your end good sir.
Keep on rocking and doing your best at everything you wish to accomplish.
Here’s to more years of chum-ness.
Thanks, and hopefully I will keep doing so for the foreseeable future.
Happy Birthday! 🎉
Thanks.
