It’s the day of Anon’s band’s performance. Can the girls pull it off with this performance?
As expected, the last episode made it obvious that things would be rough for the band. After all, Taki keeps changing the song, and Anon gets upset over her being too complicated. With Rana leaving practice and showing up inconsistently, I feel the band is on the brink of collapse but somehow manages to hold on.
On the day of the performance. With the rehearsal, if there is any, it doesn’t give confidence. Soyo’s bass sounds out of tune, and Rana plays while Taki tests her drums. Things aren’t going to go so well. Add that to the stage fright. It doesn’t add much comfort. Of course, Anon comes back with some sweets, which the members of Roselia were handing out. That is nice of them to see them do that.
As for the actual performance, it was rough. It took three tries for the band to start the song properly, although Tomori’s voice was soft initially. After seeing the audience, she began to gain the courage to sing louder. Towards the end, it seems that the audience really enjoyed it. But yes, this reminds me of Kessoku Band’s first debut, as they started off rough but managed to turn things around as the song progressed.
However, Tomori wanted to do an encore song. Then, they started playing that song that CRYCHIC played. While it was well received, Soyo seemed subtly upset while on stage. After their performance, Soyo got upset about why they played “Spring Sunlight.” It appears as if Bang Dream MyGo is not ready to let go of the drama when I hoped this would finally be the last. After all, they are playing as a band, and Tomori finally enjoys playing in a band for once. Maybe it has to do with Saki, who ran away after she started hearing the song mid-performance.
With that, Saki seems visibly upset. I wonder why? Is it because she couldn’t keep the band together after their first performance. Not only that, she knew one of the members of Sumimi, Uika. She asks for help to forget everything. I wonder what does this mean? We’ll find out next time as the drama continues. At least we are past Anon’s band’s drama. Now it’s on Saki, and we might find out why the band broke up in the first place.
Saki ran because
1) Haruhikage was CRYCHIC’s only song, and represented all that CRYCHIC was, including her happy times with Tomori and everyone,
2) it was a song she composed (w Tomori indirectly),
3) it was basically CRYCHIC v2 on-stage (esp Tomori whom she missed) but without Saki herself,
4) her piano part was written out by a newcomer’s guitar portion, 4) she got emotional from points 1-3.
It might have been her own doing and also might be everything she wanted for Tomori during the breakup, but it still hurts.
Soyo got angry because they had upset Saki, and that could mean CRYCHIC’s revival was well and truly dead now.
Without spoiling too much, I feel that too much time has passed since the band’s breakup, so I feel that Saki will feel compelled to create another band to well, forget what happened with her first band while not repeating the shortcomings that caused it to break up in the first place.
