Now that Tomorilearned about Anon’s past of running away from her study abroad, they finally decided not to run away anymore. With that, Anon and Tomori face their challenges head-on as they face even more problems. Yet, they still haven’t figured out a band name, either.
From Anon revealing her instances of running away to Tomori, I can see why they have so much in common. With that, they decided to do the performance despite their challenges. With that, we see Anon learning how to play the guitar while, at some point, Tomori singing into her pillow. I have to admit that it was funny.
Sadly, this is only the surface of the new band Anon formed. The band still feels disorganized and lacks discussion as Taki tries to get the band to practice. More on that later.
Tomori eventually came up with lyrics for the new song. Of course, Taki skipped school just to spend time writing the song. Things start to go south when Anon complains about nothing written for her, and Taki tells her just do it by ear. As expected, Rana comes in and wonders if there is sheet music for her. She eventually played the guitar part of the song without the sheet music.
Now, Taki has decided to change the sheet music thanks to Rana’s input. Taki insists that the girls will practice every day. The only problem is that Rana doesn’t always show up, and Taki keeps changing the music composition. From the flashback, Saki usually does music composition and is new to composing music.
Given the chaotic state of affairs with the band, Rana is not showing up, and Taki’s high expectations, things aren’t going too well. She even yells at Anon for getting the parts wrong. A few days before the performance, Taki yells at Anon for getting her parts wrong. Anon apparently snaps as she gets upset at Taki for being ignored or criticized and tells her off.
I wonder where the whole talking is over as things start to break down when Tomori and Soyo offer to help her. Taki takes it as they don’t want to depend on her since she is not Saki. This does not add to the fact that Rana is so inconsistent, maybe due to not exchanging numbers and being mostly out of the loop. Still, it doesn’t explain her tendency to leave before practice is over.
Lastly, Soyo is still seeking out Saki and trying to convince Musumi to join, which she turns down. She also seeks out Saki, which she tries to ignore her. Eventually, Saki realizes she needs to confront Soyo and plans to talk to her during Soyo’s band performance.
On the day before Anon’s band’s performance, Taki was in her class, laying her face on her desk. One of her classmates put a drink box on her head, which is quite funny. The funny thing is that Soyo, Anon, and Tomori were waiting for Taki, and she never came. They decide to seek her, which leads to Tomori and Anon finding Taki, and she chases after her as Taki tries to run away. Tomori eventually lost them and just waited outside while holding their shoes.
Eventually, Anon lands on Taki, and they stop where Tomori is standing after seeing her. The funny thing is that Rana came as she was looking for a cat. Believe it or not, she attends the same school as Taki but as a third-year middle school student. Makes me wonder why didn’t Taki seek her?
Despite all the drama, turned up to 11 that turn some viewers off, there are some funny moments. I wish the band’s problems finally get resolved one way or another. I understand the band members have problematic pasts, but I hope to see some resolution to strengthen the band. After all, it’s always the band on the cusp of breaking up before it starts, but somehow they manage to hang on. We’ll see how they do next time, and I wonder if they can pull it off. I think they will.
Right now my favorite girl is Stray Cat because despite having a feeling she too has a tragic backstory I like that she doesn’t give a damn about the drama and does her thing. Respect.
Yes, Rana is the best girl (besides her multicolored eyes) as she just want to play music, although who knows about her back story. It’s good that she doesn’t really have any drama tied to her, yet, but I guess one can know soon enough.
