Now that Soyo managed to settle things, Anon finally formed a band, but no name yet. However, Rana barges in, and it becomes obvious why. Also, we have a special moment with Anon and Tomori nobody was expecting.
When Anon and her band members were about to practice, Rana plugged in her guitar. She wants to be part of a band since she finds Tomori particularly interesting. Of course, Tomori becomes anxious after Rana points it out, and Taki gets defensive. The funny thing is that Anon gets a bit worried after they don’t practice, and she runs away before Rana finishes her meal. Of course, Rana left too, and Taki gets angry after realizing she didn’t pay.
As Anon rushes home, she realizes how unprepared she is compared to Rana. Anon feels that Rana can outshine her, given her guitar-playing skills. Sure, she tried to practice, but she lost motivation. This makes me wonder, did Anon’s guitar-playing skills degrade? This explains why Anon transferred back to a school in Japan.
Apparently, the event organizers found out a band bailed on them, and they needed a replacement. Taki sees this as an opportunity and wants to do a live performance. She wants to play that song that Tomori worked on that she holds special.
However, Tomori seems reluctant the next day as Tomori tells Anon she doesn’t want to perform live. That is why Taki wants to do it, as there is no point doing a band if they are just going to perform in the studio. It seems as if nothing got resolved. When Taki shares her intentions of doing the live, Anon tries to say they shouldn’t do it, and Taki calls her out for not being able to play guitar and is harsh about this. That is when Anon ran away. Is she hiding the fact that she can’t play guitar well and doesn’t want to admit it?
However, things went south when Anon ran into her two former classmates who noticed her. They asked why Anon was at Haneoka and thought she transferred to England. Yep, Anon blew her cover as Tomori found Anon and took her somewhere. Yep, she takes her to an aquarium to see penguins. You know what this means since this is a popular dating site in “yuri” shows. That is when Anon came clean about her past.
Believe it or not, Anon was part of a student council band during a festival during middle school. She can play guitar. When she shared her plans after graduating middle school, she intended to study abroad in England. After all, she thinks it’s a cool place. However, she discovered her English skills weren’t up to snuff as she couldn’t understand her classmates. To make matters worse, she messed up her introduction, and the teacher said her name wrong. In short, she packed up after one day and returned to Japan.
Believe it or not, Anon was the only one that she could tell the truth. Maybe Anon and Tomori are Kindred spirits for the fact that they run away when they are faced with a challenging situation. Believe it or not, for Tomori, it’s over her anxieties of all the harsh criticism she received for her singing that caused them to give up on what they originally wanted to do. Their running away from their instances causes Anon’s reputation to tank, and the band Tomori was in broke up. This is despite Anon being outgoing and Tomori introverted and timid.
Thankfully, Tomori convinces Anon it’s not the end. After all, Anon encouraged Tomori to try harder. Tomori wants to repay Anon back by helping her. She gives some words of encouragement, which seem like lyrics. It was enough for Anon to change her mind as she met up with Soyo and Taki, stating that they would do the live. That is while holding hands.
Does this mean that Anon and Tomori are a potential pairing? After all, they passed the aquarium test. We have to wait and see. Still, I wonder if they can pull it off and what their band name will be. We’ll see soon enough.
