As the episode titles suggest, it’s obviously a Kathrina-focused episode. You would be half right, as Kathrina’s mother has decided to visit Asakusa.
Now that Sirius’s showcase is finally done, they are on break until the fall performances roll around. I find it funny how Sassu decides to go surfing. At the same time, Panda spends her time on social media while doing various activities. Yep, she attacks the Anti-fans on social media, which is funny. Then, of course, Noa asks Shizuka and Kokona for a bottle of water. Apparently, she drank a bit too much.
Apparently, Kokona and Shizuka spent time visiting various troupes with Kathrina. But, of course, Yae seems upset that she has homework to do. Thus she can’t participate in any of the activities. Yes, having a break ruined by homework is a bummer, especially when you must attend summer school or take summer classes. Still, seeing Yae down is sad as Kathrina receives news that her mother is in Asakusa.
As expected, they met Kathrina’s mother, Theresa. I find it funny how Theresa’s aura when Kathrina reunited with her mother was so brilliant that it was too strong for Shizuka and Kokona. So, of course, she meets them but seems interested in Shizuka especially. Theresa was so amazed that she could touch and see Shizuka that she decided to check what was under Shizuka’s skirt as she lifted it. Of course, Shizuka blushes and then screams. Yep, Theresa is a person of culture, as they say, or simply curious about Kokona’s sense in general.
Either way, Shizuka is startled after Theresa gets a bit too curious. The funny thing is that Dugong popped out of Kokona’s hold and saw Theresa. Of course, Kathrina warns her mother about the otter that bit her. The funny thing is that Dugong is menacing. At the same time, it thinks about her, and it eventually wraps its hands around Theresa’s finger. It looks like it hasn’t recognized Katerina’s skills as a Dai Star or that her chest is bigger than her daughter’s.
Either way, Kathrina came to spend time with her daughter. With that, Kathrina, Kokona, and Shizuka showed Theresa around Asakusa. They did various activities, such as wearing yukatas, riding a carriage, eating at amonjayaki restaurant, going to a shooting gallery, and riding a boat. Yae and Panda found out about this from social media, but sadly they couldn’t participate.
Eventually, all of Sirius met up with Theresa. We find out from her that she intended to scout Noa. However, Noa didn’t take the offer because her senses weren’t ready. But, of course, they knew each other, including Shamo, whom Theresa also meets. This can explain why Kathrina ended up here.
Of course, Kokona and Shizuka ask Theresa to perform, which interests the other girls. Theresa did just that with Noa. It becomes apparent what scene from a play they decided to choose. After hearing Christine’s name and mention of the Phantom, they act out that famous play or fictional story, The Phantom of the Opera. With Noa’s and Theresa’s senses, the girls felt that they were actually in an opera building, and Theresa and Noa were wearing costumes that fit the character they were acting.
I find it funny how Kokona imitated that scene but with Kathrina instead. The Kokona and Kathrina pairing is getting some attention compared to Shizuka and Kokona. Still, Katherina shares her frustrations of being unable to stand out after her first performance with Sirus with her mother. That is when Theresa revealed why she came to Japan.
With that, she asked if Kathrina would take an offer from the troupes in Germany. Apparently, those troupes took notice of Kathrina’s performances at Sirius. But, of course, given that Kathrina had already made friends in Japan and had her mind set on becoming a Dai Star in Japan, she declined. It’s apparent as she sees her mother’s plane off as she stands on the observatory on the airport’s roof. We also discover that Sirius will do Phantom of the Opera for their fall performances.
Noa and Theresa’s Phantom scene was magnificent.
Kathrina has it real bad for Kokona. Love to see it. Great to see her World Dai Star mom. Hopefully she will get her redemption in the upcoming Phantom play.
Yes, their performance is nice.
Sure, Kathrina has her struggles as there is the pressure to make it big, but yes, seeing her mom is nice. It should be interesting how the roles play out in the next play.
