As Elda takes pictures of her robot figures using a diorama as a background, we find out another elf lady is visiting. Who might she be?
I like how Elda is doing a photo shoot with her robot figures as Koito goes along. But, of course, she has a different idea of what pictures will look better on social media. Koito shows a picture of Isuzu Komari holding an object smiling, and looking fashionable. She mentions how many followers she got along with her TV appearances. I find it funny how Koito mispronounces influencers like it’s some disease.
While Koito goes out to do shrine work at the shop, she sees a fashionable Elf that wants to see Elda. She ran to the backroom as that elf lady came into the room. This elf lady is Haira. She really missed Elda when she hugged her so hard. Haira is here to help exhibit the products of Kanazawa.
Eventually, she introduced herself, and Haira didn’t visit Elda for 200 years. We find out that Haira gets upset at Elda for not addressing her as an older sister. Haira is a lot older, about 100 years older than Elda and Yolda. Elda just happens to be the youngest and doesn’t like being treated as a child by Haira. Haira also mentions having a miko but admits to not getting along with her. She believes that her miko is in a rebellious period.
Interestingly, Haira asks if Elda is a burden on Koito, given Haira has been spoiling for 200 years. Then, of course, Haira complains about her Miko, saying she has a rebellious stage. That is when Haira presents them with a gift, which has grass. That is probably the worst gift to receive, but we find out why this is the case. Under the glamour, Haira has a gambling addiction developed from playing tomikuji during the Edo days before it got banned.
In short, Haira admits to spending all her souvenir and hotel money on scratch-off lottery tickets. However, she still hopes to make up the dough on horse racing betting. Well, that won’t go well as she asks to stay over.
The funny thing is that when Koito shows her to the room to stay at, she runs into Haira’s miko, who is no other than Isuzu Komari. She came back after taking a bunch of photos for social media.
As expected, Koito gets excited as she wonders what is happening. Things seem very tense as Koito admits how much of a fan of Komari. Of course, she has a cold personality, but how long can they keep doing this? At least Komari gave Elda authentic souvenirs and some specialty snacks. She was about to reveal Haira’s dirty secret before she stopped her.
Thankfully, they managed to get her to stay over. Koyuzu cooked them delicious food while distracting her from that thing Haira did. Koito and Komari find out they have quite a few things in common. We find out Komari has an issue with Haira’s gambling problems but puts up with it since she only uses her allowance. As a result, Komari feels like a child for being mean about things other people like and doesn’t know how to face Haira. But, of course, Koito knows that she blew past the limit. So while Koito mentions how Elda is a slob and buys expensive figures, Koito lets the cat out of the bag.
While Komari gets upset over this revelation as Koito and Elda had to go through with receiving grass as a present, she comes to terms with it. Komari reveals that she has been with her since she was 8 years old, and she admires her. As a result, she wants to become an adult as soon as possible. Does this sound quite a bit like Koito? She goes and shows off her photo collection of Haira and lets Koito pick one.
Ultimately, Komari scolded Haira over spending the hotel and souvenir money. Komari mentions if it’s worth becoming friends with the elves since Koito and Komari will be gone before they are. Of course, to Koito, this doesn’t bother her. That is before Komari and Haira parts way. Then, of course, they receive a super rare photo of “Haira” photo from them. It sure looks like one, given the finish.

- Otaku Elf Episode 8: The Influenzar – The Yuri Empire
Isuzu and Haira are yet again welcome additions to the cast. Another lovely ship. Both are addicted to something and spend money on selfish things that bring them happiness. Makes sense why they’re meant to be.
The curse of immortality was brought up again. Looks to be a theme in yuri this year. Doubt we’ll get an answer in the anime but no matter. Still really enjoy this show.
Yep, they are a lovely pairing and it’s no surprise to see Koito looking up to Isuzu most likely since they have things in common.
Yes, it’s kind of a theme that is bought up with titles this year, besides Tensei Oujo of course. I also doubt that it will ever get an answer too.
