Now that Aoba West managed to take down Nishikiyama despite some challenges with Megu, they are preparing to meet their match in the third round. Yes, they have to face Tachikawa Academy, which is favored to win.
Last time, Towa brought home the win that allowed Aoba West to advance to the next round. However, their next opponent won’t be that easy. They are up against Tachikawa Academy, coached by Inui Rinka, who has a good reputation. Yes, something is up with her. More on that later.
Either way, Sanae seems intimidated by the members of that team, especially given that Megu was tough. Now, they are facing off opponents that are pretty formidable as Nagumo shares information about the 5 potential members they will face. Sanae seems very scared by Negumo and Natsu’s description of Tachikawa Academy. Thankfully, she loosened up as Sachi had faith in them. Yep, Michi is one of those who make friends with people she defeats.
On the other hand, we see a glimpse of Tachikawa Academy’s players. Odagiri Hana is a first-year who can take down five opponents every minute. She tells Emma, an international student, to come to Japan to do Judo. Hana complains about how strict their coach, Inui, is. We also find out that Inu does a rigorous summer camp. So, of course, Emma wants to ditch the Judo competition to buy swimsuits. Somehow, the talk of wanting a boyfriend. It was cringe when Michi did it, but it was a lot worse when Hana did it. It made me really cringe. Thankfully Sakakibara Maho tells her to cut it out with that stuff.
Besides the cringe, we see Inui breaking from her strict personality. I find it funny how the team members Rinka manages don’t believe she will get a boyfriend. In fact, we find out that she is attracted to her senpai, Shino. I find her reaction when she notices Shino quite funny and cute as Shino is standing there all calm and focused.
From the looks of the flashback, Rinka tried to give Shino a present during her high school years. Obviously, she is the one that got Shino into Judo. Of course, Shino said Rinka shouldn’t act too close, considering they are competing against each other in the next round.
Still, Rinka calms her composure as she switches back to competition mode. This was especially the case when they met each other’s competitors. But I wonder, will Rinka get too overconfident by underestimating Aoba West. After all, Shino has an excellent reputation in Judo, so her team members might be unpredictable since they are relatively new.
Still, it’s nice how Natsu coined the nickname for Michi, “Michi Ippon.” Quite fitting, given how much she was on a roll until Megu came along. I expect her to do well, as Shino gave some tips on how to deal with her first match. Sure, Tachikawa Academy may look formidable, but they stand a chance against them, given the support they receive. Also, it’s interesting that Inui switched out their ace for Emma. I wonder if she is doing this since she is too confident. We’ll see next time.
Ok, this looks interesting. I’m going to chech this show.
Hope you enjoy it.
Hope our heroines prevail but since Nagumo still can’t compete I won’t hold my breath.
Didn’t care for the super team but their coach is kinda nice.
Yep, Rinka’s team is pretty tough and only having four members that puts them at a disadvantage, but I do wonder if Shino would actually bring Negumo in since her name is technically on the roster.
But yes, Rinka is pretty good, and sill curshing over her senpai after all these years. Not so much about the Hana though.
