As Anis fights against her deranged little brother, you might wonder how Al jumped off the deep end. It’s all due to Anis relinquishing her right to the throne.
Before the battle, we saw a flashback of Al and Anis during their childhood. Believe it or not, Al gets involved with Anis’s antics after she decides to start researching magicology. Then, of course, he gets into a splat after Anis does something risky, but somehow, they make up with each other with a handshake.
Sadly, they got into a risky situation with a monster. Anis stayed behind so Al could escape. While they made it out alive, since Anis didn’t have magical abilities, she got a bad reputation for almost getting Al killed. This is why Anis gave up the rights to the throne to resolve this issue. But, of course, Al didn’t like how his older sister was treated as a heretic as he grew distant from her.
Deep inside, an inferiority complex grows inside him as Anis obviously as she is willing to sacrifice her reputation while taking risks to gain magic-like abilities. Not to mention, she believes in magic. Yet, at the same time, Al resents it, especially given how people treat Anis for not having it.
This can explain why Al went to great lengths to research vampire powers and use Lainie to control the people’s minds and put the nobles in their place. But that is going to the deep end to achieve it, which Anis would disapprove of. He reveals his reason for going to the dark side after Euphie intervenes and stops Anis. Still, what he did is incorrect as it’s never good to become full tyrant mode, especially for a good cause. People won’t view him as legitimate, especially after becoming a vampire.
As for the fight, it’s evident that Al is trying to get retribution on Anis showing how superior he is. When Anis takes out the dragon’s powers, she almost overdoes it and nearly kills her little brother. It’s not until Euphie has to intervene and push Anis from making the final blow.
The moment when Euphie gets upset over Anis and Al fighting to the death is too much felt emotional. Still, she is right since killing Al wouldn’t do Anis any good, knowing he will receive punishment for his deeds. Either way, he eventually admits that Anis is superior, given her intelligence and that she cares about the people. After all, he committed a lot of misdeeds to try to grab power and failed in the end. He basically betrayed everyone close to him along the way.
Before that happened, Lainie managed to heal herself after Ilia offered her blood, which restored her core. However, she still feels pain as the magicite Al stole is tied to her. I think the Lainie and Ilia pairing has some legs here now.
Either way, it looks that Al’s co-conspirators are put to death as he apparently goes to prison. While Ilia and Lainie didn’t die, Al got the worst fate. He gets exiled for life as his father and mother are deeply disappointed in him for going off the deep end. Basically, they disowned him as he headed to prison. At least Anis makes amends with him before he gets sent to prison. Of course, Euphie and Lainie get a chance to say their last words to him before he gets sent to prison. Of course, Euhpie gets to slap him, which he deserves as in putting salt in the wounds. He gets that for going to the deep end and thinking tyranny is a good idea. Still, Euphie doesn’t seem spiteful enough to punch him instead, although he deserves it.
With that, we learn that the kingdom is in chaos as many of Al’s co-conspirator and people involved receives punishment. Anis and, obviously, Ilia are bedridden. As expected, tattooing the dragon’s magicite is obviously not safe as Anis make it out to be, as she stays by her side and even kisses Anis on the forehead. As for what happens, we don’t know about at least we are getting close to that kiss.

Poor Anis has a lot of pain to deal with. Fortunately she has a loving fiancee/future wife by her side.
Both sides made solid points but Prince Al-Hole went too far. No forgiveness.
Did I mention I love LaiLia?
Only the fact I was at work held back my reaction to LaiLia living. You can only imagine my joy then and after dood.
Yes, she has a lot to deal with given her little brother going the deep end, but thankfully she has Euphie by her side.
The thing is, Al probably has the worst fate given that he shoved in the vampire magicite. They say he is going to work for the kingdom until he turns into dust, meaning that he is going to become a test subject? If he didn’t go full vampire, he would probably be put into death, while his co-conspirators got the death penalty. So in short, he got the worst end, and he deserves it.
But it’s good that Ilia and Lainie will make it out alive and the pairing lives on.
So, to recover from a fatal injury, Lainie had “no choice” besides sharing a passionate kiss with the hot maid Ilia? With sure, Lainie’s “plot armor” is the best in the market.
And Algard had a little redemption with the revelation of his motives and the make up with Anis. But still a very tiny redemption to justify conspiracy and murder attempt.
Now we will go to the last arc of the show, hoping for new advances in the Anis/Euphie front (and also for more seasons of this title).
Yes, that kiss is something, but at least Lainie lives on way or another which is nice.
Sure, it’s understandable what Al did, but what he did doesn’t mean it’s right. At least he receives the punishment he deserves, although his actions had an impact on the family. I do wonder how Anis and Euphie manages to recover from the mess Anis’s little brother created. We’ll see soon enough.
