While Lyrical Lily performed, Tsubaki noticed something was up with Aoi. Yep, it has to do with the nightclub Alter Ego. Yes, this all ties back to RONDO’s collaboration with Merm4id.
Now it’s finally April, but sadly the stay cat snuck in and damaged the electrical work and the DJ equipment. The Beckoning Cat project is in a big bind now since their venue is inoperable and will take time to repair. This incident reminds me of the time in late January 2021 when rodents came under my car’s hood and damaged the fluent hose.
Still, I find it funny how Kurumi blames Muni’s stuffed animal cat, Nyachio, because it looks like the culprit. Yep, she became very defensive since Kurumi placed unfounded accusations against her mascot. Either way, they are in trouble, as many people look forward to the April performance. Sadly, they cannot make many choices until Aoi steps up to the plate.
With that, Aoi proposes possibly using ALTER EGO as a place to perform. Aoi feels that RONDO should show everyone what they can do there. Of course, Tsubaki doesn’t think it’s possible because of the traditions and age descriptions. Then again, Rondo did a two-man live with Merm4id. So opening ALTER EGO to the public without age restrictions might be a step too big. Also, there is the risk that regulars might be against this since it goes against tradition. Then again, RONDO’s collaboration with Merm4id was a success, so this can work out in their favor.
Still, Aoi is willing to take a chance, and their manager seems to agree, but they need some more time to discuss it with the owner. The girls get a bit anxious, Nagisa especially, as time is running out. Still, a change like this takes time, but they decide to do something.
Tsubaki decides to visit the Café Vinyl as she asks to meet Airi. Airi has been her voice instructor since Tsubaki’s childhood. As expected, Hiro and Nagisa spied on Tsubaki from behind. Of course, Airi mentions how much Tsubaki has improved and that when she loses confidence, she can’t sing. Still, Airi has confidence in Tsubaki’s team as Tsubaki asks for advice on a way forward for RONDO.
Of course, Kyoko came to visit and looked for Airi and came in. Kyoko seemed to go in, and Hiro and Nagisa almost blew their cover. Airi apparently taught Kyoko as well. Either way, Kyoko advises Tsubaki to trust her friends before blowing Hiro’s and Nagisa’s cover. Of course, they are worried about Tsubaki since she looks down. Still, this gives Kyoko the idea of seeing her team now.
In the last ditch move, Tsubaki and her friends hold a survey to determine the fate of ALTER EGO. They enlisted the help of an influencer, Minaru Channel. As expected, the results were noticeable. Of course, everyone wants to see the age and membership restrictions removed. But, of course, their manager already had this in mind to hold performances in the morning with no alcoholic beverages. The owner considered the positive reception for RONDO’s collaboration with Merm4id. They also see the potential of catering to the younger generation’s tastes.
Overall, RONDO managed to pull off a great performance as more people attended during the morning. It amazed Rika in particular. Not too surprising, as they worked with RONDO not too long ago. Even so, it’s obvious who is the focus next time, given Merm4id’s connections with RONDO, primarily with Rika and Tsubaki.

- D4DJ All Mix Episode 3+4: Lyrical RONDO – The Yuri Empire
This episode felt like a continuation of RONDO’s story in Double Mix and that’s perfectly fine by me as I enjoyed that special. Fitting that next time the best group will continue their story too since they’re tied to RONDO after all.
Agreed, nice to see a tie in back into the OVA, which I watched a few weeks back and it was enjoyable. Of course, the Merm4id focus is what everyone is waiting for obviously.
