At last, the tournament qualifiers have begun. Will Himura be able to defeat her rival, Erika, again? Also, you might wonder what kind of relationship they had before they went to different schools.
As the first round began, Michi saw Seno scoring her first ippon quite easily. Yep, not too surprising to see Kasumigaoka. Michi seems amazed by how much strength she has despite being small. Either way, it looks like they are a formidable team for Aoba West to face off against.
When they finished their first match, Erika told Himura not to lose her first match. Yep, there is no doubt that Erika wants to face off against Himura in a rematch, no matter what. Of course, Sanae tripped and thought she had lost her glasses. She thought it was okay to throw it for the first round as she couldn’t see, and her opponents looked scary. That is until Michi gives her a lift by slapping her butt. Sanae’s glasses slid back on her face after Michi gave her a pep talk, which was quite funny.
From the first round, Aoba West easily won the first round. Michi couldn’t pull off an ippon, but at least it ended in a tie, which is something Michi didn’t hope. At least they made it to the next round. Still, Himura has the tournament on her mind as she drops her egg and tries to clean it. Besides Michi trying to make a cool move and failing during lunch, Kusumigaoka is obviously focused on the next round.
As for the second round, Aoba West finally faces off against Kasumigaoka. Of course, Sanae fought against Sono, but she underestimated her despite Sono’s short stature. Sono ends up defeating Sanae. This sets the tone for the next fight between Himura and Erika, as they are nimble but can’t score a point until Erika manages to. Is Aoba West out of the running?
During the match, we see a flashback of the important moment that Erika and Himura remember. Given how introverted Himura is, she is the only one in her class not in a club, and her teacher wants her to join one.
Himura observed several clubs until she saw Erika training for Judo for an hour. Erika notices and asks Himura if she is interested in Judo. I guess this is where Himura meant that the judogi gives her confidence. Erika told her this; of course, they developed bonds as there was a moment. Himura noticed that Erika wasn’t smiling. They are determined to overcome each other, make up, and smile together.
Erika was bitter at Himura for not going to the same school and losing against her. Still, I wonder if this match will end in a tie or if Himura will win. After all, there is Michi left and can she score the winning point. We must wait and see next time.

We knew the animation in the judo matches were pretty good but I was not prepared for the awesomeness that was Towa vs Erika. Gets me excited for future important matches like it. Perhaps Michi’s in the next episode. Get pumped!
Yes, the Judo animation is pretty good for sure. But yes, the outcome of Michi’s match should be interesting.
