Now that Lyrical Lily launched the town revival project with all 6 DJ groups, including themselves, how well did it go? It falls a bit short at a glance, but for obvious reasons.
Despite Peasky P-Key’s performance shortly after New Year’s, it seems that things fell short of generating enough attention. However, Miyu, when walking to school, initially heard that the event went well.
However, she didn’t catch one girl saying she didn’t hear about the performances at the shopping district. Instead, she got upset after finding out that the event didn’t get enough buzz. They probably found out from Muni, of course, as she keeps a good look at the analytics. It’s easy to see why after she showed them the website for the event from the city.
Yep, the event’s home page looks like something from the 90s. I know since I started using the internet in the late 90s. It’s not too unheard of for websites from the government to look like something from the 90s. Did they use Microsoft Frontpage to create the town revival event website?
Despite Japan’s reputation for being a high-tech country, they still use floppy disks, fax machines, and 1990s web design. No wonder the event doesn’t get much attention. 90s web design only vibes from the older generations, not younger generations who watch videos on YouTube, use social networks, and read blogs. Nevertheless, the 90s are calling, and they want their Web 1.0 design back.
Given that Muni is dissatisfied with how the city handles the promotion, she suggests taking matters into their own hands. So they held a meeting to create a video to generate buzz for the monthly events.
Yes, have some DJ groups help promote the various aspects of the town. But, of course, Happy Around had the most screen time. They spent time showcasing the market district’s shops and food stalls, some closed shops and one storefront converted into a stage. They also went into a record shop since Maho wanted to. Remember, used CDs have other people’s love for the single or album they listened to.
The highlight is, of course, Happy Around eating food, especially Rinku and Muni. Muni seems to enjoy Rinku eating food. However, there is that one instance where Muni decides to get sweets after Rinku asks if she is going to film herself eating something. After buying an ice cream cone and having a taste, Rinku wants a taste.
In exchange, Rinku will let Muni taste her taiyaki. I find it funny how when Muni let Rinku taste the ice cream, she said not to gulp the whole thing. When she tasted the taiyaki, she blushed red before Rinku bit into the taiyaki. Muni just bit out of it. Yep, it’s because of the indirect kiss, as Muni acts like a tsundere. I find that moment in particular cute. Rinku and Muni, best pairing!
As for the other segments, Photon Maiden focuses on the shrine district as they had Japanese sweets. Towa also showed her shrine stamp book. We also see Peaky P-key doing intense exercise at a gym. Both Peaky P-key and Merm4id went to the same public bath. Also, Lyrical Lily sneaked into the exclusive nightclub, Alter Ego, where RONDO performs.
In the end, the recordings we saw are just a behind-the-scenes look at the videos Muni is cutting. Eventually, she published the finished video, generating the buzz that the website couldn’t. Not too surprising since it did a better job showcasing the town. At least the video set out what they wanted to do. It was nice to see the cute moments of each DJ group recording their own part.

Merm4id are love. So much love.
This episode had enough to post a highlight reel myself with Muni’s love for Rinku being #1 naturally. Watch S1 to get all the details.
I guessed correctly, but I definitely need to watch the OVA to experience the Merm4id goodness.
Yes, I will get to the first season when I have free time, I’m probably missing the Muni and Rinku moment that made it got where they are. Still, the pairing is so good.
