From last time, Oinky Doink staged a revolution as Nagomi won the Omoe challenge. Nagi obviously doesn’t like that and tries to send a hitman to kill Ranko. From this, we learn about who is in the panda outfit. Nope, it’s not the man in the trench coat, but someone involved with the incident in 1985.
At the beginning of the episode, we see the guy interested in Ranko killing a maid. His name is Suehiro, and he is apparently a hitman for Creatureland. Still, Suehiro develops romantic feelings for Ranko on the first day of coming to Oinky Doink. Not too surprising since Yumechi, Shippon, and Zoya are talking about how he and Rankoares are close and probably want to go on a date. Also, we see business booming for Oinky Doink as they have a lot of customers.
Of course, Nagomi says that maids are not allowed to date. So, of course, Yasuko pushes for a date since she thinks the guy has money. However, there is also someone who doesn’t want Ranko to go on a date. Yes, it’s the panda, Okachimachi. I find it funny how it blocked the door, so Ranko can’t leave. It even set up its own home in the elevator to prevent Ranko from going. Before Okachimachi said something to Ranko as she left the elevator, the door closed. The panda is someone in a costume.
As expected, Ranko dressed up pretty much what she looks like in the ending theme. She went on a date with Suehiro, which she didn’t know was Creatureland’s hitman. They also went to a zoo containing pandas, which is not surprising. He is in love with her. He tells Ranko his plan to run away from Akiba together and eventually kisses her before leaving.
After he leaves, we finally see Okachimachi with a gun. She tells her a story about a certain maid that killed Michiyo. That maid dreamed of being a maid like Nagomi and a master taking a liking for her. She eventually falls in love with Suehiro, like Ranko. The girl received a task to hit the head maid at a rival café. After she hesitantly killed Michiyo, she ran, and the guy she fell in love with tried to kill her. But a cop stops the guy as she makes a run before getting hit by a car.
She somehow survives and finds a panda outfit for sale. She is done being a maid after going through what she went through and lived life as a panda for 15 years until Yasuko hired her. That is until she met Ranko again. Believe it or not, that girl in the story is actually Okachimachi. She tells Ranko that Suehiro will kill her as someone hired him to kill her. After all, he tried to kill Okachimachi. Can you really trust him?
After finding out that Okachimachi is the one who killed Michiyo, Ranko unmasked the panda. Ranko points the gun at Okachimachi Instead of shooting her, the bullet hits the panda costume head instead. Ranko said it was because Michiyo wouldn’t want that from her. This makes it apparent that Ranko got framed for the crime. Still, surprising to see that the voice actress of Suzumiya Haruhi, Hirano Aya voices Okachimachi. That is a name I haven’t heard in a long time.
With that, this makes the whole story a bit fishy since Nagi knows Suehiro. Perhaps Nagi, who was Uzuko set the hit on Michiyo as a part of a power grab. Why else does she break the sisterhood pact with Ranko, secretly hire a rival maid group maid to take Michiyo out, have Suehiro get rid of her and frame Ranko for the crime? It becomes evident after what happens next.
With that, Nagomi said farewell to Ranko as she decided to leave. While it’s sad, she doesn’t realize what will happen afterward. Ranko waited at the train station until she noticed a ruckus. We know that Okachimachi killed Suehiro to save Ranko. However, she didn’t realize that Suehiro talked to Nagi, sharing his intention not to kill Ranko.
When he got shot, he had an engagement ring that he intended to give to Ranko. But, while Okachimachi took Ranko’s happiness away, the guy tried to kill her, so he is still a bad guy, no matter his attempt to redeem himself. After all, falling in love with a hitman is a big no-no.
It becomes apparent that Suehiro isn’t going to come after waiting a long time in the rain. When she got back, Okachimachi was there in her usual spot. She spilled the beans, revealing that Uzuko or rather, Nagi tasked her to kill Michiyo. It all adds up as Ranko is prepared to face off against Nagi. Either way, Nagi is probably a dead man walking now. Can Oinky Doink remove Nagi from the throne and finally bring peace? We’ll find out in the next two episodes.
Very surprised to find out the panda was kind of the catalyst to all this even though she wasn’t the mastermind.
Hope RanGomi can still happen despite Ranko losing another loved one or someone she kinda cared about. Having said that I have a bad feeling where the show may go. Let’s hope for the best.
Yes, it’s surprising that the person inside the panda costume is the maid that started it all, but it’s interesting that Nagi is the one that planned this all along. After all, she wants power and use violence to do it, which can explain what she did.
Thankfully, Ranko didn’t land into the trap, which she was about to. Hopefully everyone manage to remain safe as they have done so far.
