From last time, it seems that someone messed up as all the supplies the DIY club gathered had gone missing. Finally, it becomes apparent what happened as the girls become devastated.
The DIY club seemed so psyched up from last time to finally build the secret hideout. Sadly, the pile of wood they collected simply disappeared or was deposed. Haruko apparently didn’t catch this in time to stop the disposal. In other words, the girls are back to square one. Even with this, Rei does not allow Kokoro and Juliet to use their funds.
Either way, are they out of luck? It’s depressing to see Juliet and Serufu walk home in the rain without a coat or umbrella. Also, Juliet points out to Miku that Serufu is feeling out of it. Is this a sign that Miku will finally do something for her beloved to cheer her up? Yep, she did in perhaps the loveliest moment she had with Serufu.
After hearing the news, she went to the attic and found two boards. It’s the remains of the bench. It had a special plaque with Serufu’s and Miku’s names. As expected, it’s finally nice to see Miku expressing her true feelings for DIY instead of surprising it as she does. It’s obvious why she wants to help Serufu, and maybe she has feelings for her. Still, it’s cute to see her blush as she suggests Serufu ask people around for discarded wood from furniture, floorboards, and unused lumber.
It took a while for Serufu to notice, but she finally woke up and understood what Miku suggested. The next day, she took the boards that Miku gave her to the clubhouse, although she ran into a pole. Yep, Takumi brings up Himawari no Girls as they made posters containing drawings of tree houses.
Everyone seems willing to help, even the old ladies who bought their stuff. Also, we got another beach episode, although it’s only a short scene. Then, of course, Serufu gets stung by jellyfish, which is expected.
After all that, they gathered a lot of wood but still needed more. So Haruko brought them a truckload of wood she collected from her former classmates she knew in the DIY Club. Haruko was part of the original DIY Club and helped build the current clubhouse. Her former members Haruko knew contributed to the wood supply. Of course, this kind of breaks the rules since she used gas money, but they made an exception.
Perhaps the best moment is when Serufu notices Miku looking out the window. There is no denying it anymore. She really wants to be part of the action. Serufu called her down, and she actually came. When she meets her, she hands her a drill and invites her to build the secret base. It took 10 episodes, but will Miku finally join the club and help the girls? Either way, it’s a sign that Miku finally defrosted. She really wanted to be with Serufu and do DIY together.
Nice to see our heroines’ slump not last long and bounce back.
Jigglypuff is almost there. Will she shatter expectations by joining next episode or continue the expected route of her joining in the finale?
Thought it would be a downer, but you got to give them credit that they still have a lot of motivation despite the huge setback. But at least it gives a nice moment with Miku and Serufu. Hopefully she will finally join, since she already got there already.
